Kotobukiya Gatling Gun 5mm adapter by process on Shapeways anyone have pics of this installed? also does anyone know if these handles are long enough to be held slungunder by the TFP Dreadwing mold?
Are you definateley going to be making an alt mode compatible fuson cannon process? Im wondering how hard t would be to drill some holes through the exsting one to make it fit if not
well it would be a tad small compared to the current scope but its probably better in scale to an actual nerf maverick scope
Since we are on the subject of improving classics megatron... How hard would it be to make a head kinda like this one? http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/commi...825-custom-classics-henkei-megatron-head.html Since soundwave3k no longer can make them, there really is a market for a more g1 head. Also, do you think the shapeways material could stand up to being used to replace the ratchet joints with something with more range of movement? All you would really need to replace is the toothed wheel and the little nub the spring sits under in the leg.
Gotta admit... seeing these two addons on a wingless Henkei Megatron makes me not dislike that mold anymore... though I guess it doesn't have a workable alt mode now right?
I don't know, but I tend to avoid designing things that require a lot of detail, since it can get lost in the printing. The last time I experimented with ratchets, they wore down quickly. Apparently stainless steel could be viable, but I don't know if I'd be able to get any additional range from a redesign. I actually took the ratchets out of my Megatron, and replaced them with rubber o-rings for friction. Correct.
I think I know how you could modify the cannon so that it can store in gun mode on megatron... Basically take the mount section and attach it to the bottom of the square part near the back of the scope. Then put two 5mm ports on either side of the scope just in front of the arm mount. If my estimates are right... it should fit pretty nicely in the spot for the old cannon and would look decent in bot mode. Yes it would be a little out of scale to work as a scope for the gun, but it would be perfect as a laser sight module which IMO makes more sense than the scope anyways. Also could you also make a filler part that after inserting the pin from the original cannon into could be put where the old cannon used to be? EDIT: -Added a dirty mockup of what it would look like + the intended area for the 5mm ports for alt mode storage.
Man... taking advantage of the 10% off WSF sale on Shapeways got me to recall this thread... hate to necro bump it... but where's process been as of late? Always had some nice, simple, designs that helped with TFs.
Got some shapeways Energon Gestalt to Prime Combiner adapters... kinda neat... though the Energon Gestalt pegs can't seem to bear the weight of Wing Saber all that well. (And the tabbing isn't all that secure sadly. I wonder if Shapeways printed these and polished... despite requesting WSF. They look very smooth compared to older WSF samples...)
