At LONG last I am extremely proud and excited to present my form of the Constructicons and Devastator. Obvisously this is a project based on the Ptitvite / Frenzy_Rumble model with a few tweaks to make it my own. This set of figures is my first custom project and was a great way to learn and gain confidence to go off and do something unique next time around.

Thanks go to Mike (Frenzy_Rumble) for not only his gift to the community but his willingness to help newcomers to the craft. Also thanks go to Sculpt-Bot for his casted Devastator heads (which will be seen later).

Every other day I will show a new Constructicon all leading up to Devastator himself. (Bare with me as I am shooting the figures and prepping them for display here.)

Since I am new to all this, please let me know what you guys think!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

First up, we start with Long Haul:

View the LONG HAUL set at my Flickr album: Long Haul - a set on Flickr

    MOLD USED:
    - Energon Demolishor

    MODS:
    - Switched out and locked truck grill at chest for robot and alt mode
    - Added new ball joint for head to give better range of motion and ability to tuck in during alt mode
    - Lowered dump bed for robot mode so it sits lower and looks more accurate

    THOUGHTS:
    - This mold is an excellent representation of Long Haul and works perfectly for stability in combined mode. Range of articulation offers up plenty of posing options.

Both this and Bonecrusher are very solid starts! I especially like the 'Con symbols and the choice of yellow green (just how I like Devastator to be :)  )

Looking forward to all the others to be revealed, and a more 'personal' idea next time. :D

okay, this is the final one.

Let me just start out by saying, the painting was top notch, gorgeous job.
And while Energon Demolishor "can" stand in decently for Long Haul, there is one fundemental problem that drives me absolutely crazy with ALL of the energon demmy and Devastator customs.

MAG WHEELS DO NOT BELONG ON A CONSTRUCTION VEHICLE!!!!!!

    *ahem*

sorry it had to be your custom I rant about, but think about it....

You have an entire squadron of construction vehicles, all of them have solid wheels, all of them look rough and ready and able to work.
Then you get to Long Haul who looks like he's trying to scan some sort of low rider hot rod do jobby. It takes the whole Constructicon aesthetic and shoots a hole in it and IMO, makes it look shoddy. This isn't just you, its everyone that has done any sort of unicron combiner with ener demmy, its the one thing I didn't like, at all.

I say pop off the wheels and give him ROTF Long Haul's wheels, you got something going.

Again, paint job is awesome, looks like you modded the head a bit too. I love it in all respects, other than the bloomin' wheels.

Very nice! Your paint looks really smooth. I like that tone of green. Did you use an airbrush or are you hand painting?

I look forward to seeing the rest of the set.

@ KB, it was done with airbrush, drybrushing, with fine touches being done with a tiny tiny tiny brush. :D

    Thanks guys!

@Shinobi - Long Haul likes his Bling Wheel look!

BTW, don't hesitate to speak your mind! :D
