Super Deluxe Bumblebee *****LINK for Video Review by Peaugh of Custom Double Blaster Bumblebee***** Total modifications done to transform Battle Blade Bumblebee into Super Deluxe class Bumblebee: 17!!! and after all these modifications it still transforms. 1. modified hood 2. collar pieces 3. split and tilt grill and headlights 4. ball jointed wrists 5. dual forearm blasters 6. ball jointed thigh panels 7. pronged feet (which also allows for heels to hide in alt mode) 8. brake lights relocation (from legs onto back) 9. alternate door hinges 10. spinning back assembly 11. added mini wings 12. fold up windshield 13. partial fender relocation from front wheels to headlights 14. plug and play shoulder cannon weapons 15. Tilt down shoulder kibble, so the wings don't sit so high on his back 16. Added vocal chords to his neck 17. Redesigned Ankle joints allowing extension (for alt mode), retraction (for bot mode), and rotation Here are some additional transformation photos (attached):
I snipped out the hinge connection from inside the yellow thigh panels and inserted a ball joint on each! Had to scrounge up (2) .13" diameter ball joints. Deluxe Soundwave's neck joints worked perfectly! EDIT: picture added.
Yes, but the blades go opposite directions and the axe on the right arm is visible. Could go this way for sure, but it's a loss of symmetry.
Thanks! The ball joint insert was pretty easy. Just drill a hole (I did it by hand) into the stem of the old hinge block and use superglue to secure the neck of the ball joint into the hole.
oh,that is still a wicked mod though,so what you doing to do with the other bb? turn him to a different characther overall?
Wow. Someone here said that this version of BB is the most screen-accurate / definitive BB from the movies and I didn't believe him. But thanks to you, now I do! This IS the best BB ever! And with all of those mods you've done to him so far made him look even more screen accurate. Can't wait to see your mod for the back panel thingy.
Thanks! And no, the extra BB is being used for bot parts. Almost everything! There are some minor differences... but big props for sure to the HA design! Sure thing. PM me about it! Thank you very much, and I do hope to solve the problem of the "BIG hood" and the approach that was used for the wings - without compromising the transformation.
god I can't wait until my shoulder is well enough for me to start bashing again... I have so many idea's to implement onto this figure and I am so excited to work on him..
The mods and paint apps look fantastic... But you need to give him the most important missing joints: his wrists! Fix those curling hands and he'll be perfect.
Can't wait to see how it turns out! I look forward to your work as well bro! Heal up!!! I def prefer that over the double axe approach personally. There is a way to do that as well!!! Same way I modded the thigh panels, but just have to trim down the pins to keep the thumbs in place!
I'm goin as fast as I can. Are you going to try and do what I was talking to you about with the doors and the fenders??
With the doors, and I'm thinking I need parts from my dlx Ironhide for it. Gotta brainstorm! Double weapons certainly seems to be a theme of the TF2 toys!
