So this is my most recent piece, I've been working on it off and on for a couple of months but recently kicked this into high gear for Botcon. I just got him finished 5 hours before I flew out to Florida. Ratbat was literally a last minute decision, Tuesday before Botcon I decided I could turn the spare wheel into Ratbat. The toy is built around Marvel Transformers Captain America, with lots of milli-putting to remove the stupid chainmail which makes me resent John Cassaday for adding it to Cap's look. I also used the Classics Soundwave for the chest piece and head, and a G1 Ratbat which was in really good condition. Sucks, but the only one I had to hand. I entered this into the competition but some really well deserved pieces won, which was as I expected, you can't expect to win with only 8 months experience. I got some really good feedback though and some really positive comments so it was all well worth it. I'll be back at Botcon next year with something new. One last thing: As with all my customs I am aiming for a factory finish. No battle damage, paint scuffing, dirt splashs, carbon scorring or any of that. It's not that I'm against it, I just want my customs to fit in with the rest of my collection. All my customs are fully transformable, I will add photos of the vehicle mode soon. Also, all my customs are made with the incredible aid of my girlfriend Aimee, all the fine detail paint work and finishing is her doing. Me man, me use tools and dremmels and soldering irons and spray paint cans. I couldn't do it without her. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachment.php?attachmentid=27169480&stc=1&d=1278112165
Thanks, currently working on Soundblaster for a friends birthday. Or maybe I should call him Electrostatic Soundwave.
Hey you could always call it Street Soundwave. At least hasbro made up somehting instead of just calling him black soundwave, ha.
i was wondering where the non-g1 parts from the ratbat came from. I mean it should've been obvious to me, seeing as how the wheel came with cap'n. Regardless, an excellent job!!
I tell ya you should see how impressive it is in person! Unfortunately, I couldn't snag the ratbat with Sid watching my every move!!! In all seriousness I cannot believe how quickly you made it. Totally incredible.
this was a really nice piece.it was great seeing it first hand.it was also a pleasure meeting you in person.i was the guy with the other bw megatron at the con
Looks fantastic! Pass along my compliments to the gf as well, nice detail paintwork. Alt mode pics please?
Very good work here man! I dig the factory finish look as well. I do think you meant that you used Cybertron Soundwave for parts though Are you planning something for his trademark weapons?
indeed, I meant to say Cybertron Soundwave. I picked up a shoulder cannon from Megamus so I should be adding that to this guy soon, I want it to transform / store as an exhaust at the rear of the truck. Alt mode pics soon, I promise.
