I saw some cool Whiplash customs, so I thought I'd try my hand at it. Only problem was I couldn't find a single reference picture for it. So i winged it. I don't think the end result is anything like the actual armor, but I think it still came out looking cool.
Haha, yeah... not movie accurate. He's made from a Heavy Artillery Iron Man with some resculpting on the head. His extra armor on the hips, chest, and arms are from a megabloks Halo Spartan. The front of the skirt is styrene with a scratch built hinge so it doesn't impede movement. The lower legs are from a Resistance Ravager. Obviously, alot of this is borrowed from Jins Hammer Drone.
its awesome! i can barely remember what his armor looked like in the movie either. how did you make the whips? those whips would look good on a ROTF Jolt figure.
Thanks for the comments guys. @garinhash: The whips are really, really easy to make. Just get some of the twist ties that figures come packaged in, and go to town on them with a hot glue gun. Paint with whatever transparent paint you want (oddly enough, the citadel red foundation paint makes a really really nice hot pink color on stuff like this), and bam, instant energy projections. Hot glue is one of those seldom used tools that needs to see more usage. Someone over at fwoosh was kind enough to provide me with an actual reference just now, and damn, mine isn't anywhere close to the actual design.
^Not close but yours is still awesome in its own right. Looking at the reference pics, it kinda looks like the Mark1 model.
Two suggestions: 1: Don't worry about following to model. Yours turned out amazing. 2: Keep doing more!
Got my vote! . I'd like to see him with some of the electro wire we saw a few folks use on ROTF Jolt.
Great job! It boggles the mind to think that they released 11ty billion versions of Iron Man but not any Hammer drones or the Whiplash armor fig....
