i really like the arms and the thighs. only two things (one of which youve already addressed) - i agree with WT, the breastplate might work a liitle higher. also, the neck you added seems to have his head riding a tad high. maybe shroten that a little? great paintwork too.
Wow, thanks everyone, I'm overwhelmed. Today I'm gonna make the mods mentioned and post some more pics, I think they should be an improvement.
Love the forearms are thighs. Great work there. The paint looks really good. My only critique...the chest plate is too low. Looks more like un upper stomach plate.
those corrections made all the difference in the world. Much, much better now. Without a doubt my favorite Devastator, because you didn't keep it all inside the box of what others have done.
Thanks for the keen eye, I knew something was off but I've been looking at this guy for months and just overlooked it. Thank you, I always try not to disappoint. Ebay listing is up, though I feel like I'm orphaning one of my children.
This has to be the best Devs to date. As others have mentioned, I like that you didn't go the whole "copy-paste" method. You put your own spin on it, and it all came out wonderfully. Everything about it works, and with the improvements you made from the first set of pics, those really set it off. Top shelf work sir.
The fixes are awesome!! This picture is just all kinds of awesome: One suggestion, add a diffused light about 5 feet in front of where you are taking the pics. It will cast more functional light on the figure and it will show MUCH better in your pics. i want this bad boy to be portrayed in ALL it's beauty!
I was going to say how odd that chest shield looked, but then I realized I was late to the party and you'd already fixed it. Anyways, that looks superb. The arms not being the usual Primus or Unicron parts is also very nice, since he looks alot more like the original Devestator.
Thanks Z, and for all your help too. Good tip with the light, I'll have to get another for the next time. Broke as hell right now, and these are the only 2 lamps that arent attached to a ceiling fan Thank you, glad you like it! Thanks man, I put a bit of effort into it, so far it sounds like it paid off. Zildjian should have them available soon for all you guys who want a different look as well. Thank you, I redid the forearms 3 times before I finally got a configuration I liked.
Great take on Devy! The proportions look more brutish than what we're used to, which works pretty well. I also really like the more sinister looking headsculpt.
^Awesome take on an awesome combiner! I especially love what you have done with a Unicron head and made it G1-esque and Marvel comics like! WIN! :
Awesome! Nice to see someone make one of these without random, stupid gundam parts stuck all over it, and nice to see a lack of unicron parts too.
Thanks mampy, I always figured Devy was a brute, like a back alley brawler. If he's gonna smash some Autobots, I figured he needed the muscle to back it up. Thanks man, figured it was time for a change. I love all the other Devastators, he's one of 2 of my favorite combiners. I just wanted to see something different, spice up an already great recipe. Thanks, I like the Uncron parts though. Some of the ones made look outstanding, I just figured I needed to beef up my skills a little and try something new with the styrene, and maybe stir a movement in the hobby. I think a lot of people limit themselves in their creativity, and I'm hoping people see this and try to apply the same concept to their own projects. Like the people I mentioned who helped and inspired this, I want to help take customizing to new levels.
Truly inspirational man. I'll need to level up quite a bit before tackling this project but it's definitely got me thinking about stuff already. So the forearms are scratch built out of styrene?
