I'm not usually one to do a bash that has already been done. Where is the fun in that, right? However, there are several projects where one basher has really done the "best" conceivable bash that can be imagined for a character. For example, Ptitvite and his Devastator (which has helped spawn a formula for damn near EVERY combiner since), Nemesis Predaking and his TFA Dinobot...there are quite a few. Another is Classics Shockwave. The first one I ever saw was by Jin Saotome, and it floored me. As the years have passed, many of us have followed closely to that formula, trying to interject our own spin or take on that bash. It's almost like a right of passage, right? Anywho, here is my take on Classics Shocky, a commission for a fellow TFW2005 member. His arms are from a Classics 2.0 Treadbolt. His cannon tip and his "Falllen Cannon" add-on are from a Death Stinger Zoid (thanks Slimaxis!) The paint used is Tamiya Chrome Silver (shiny!!!!) and the best purple I've ever used, Game's Workshops Liche Purple and Warlock Purple. The yellow accent color is Sunburst yellow, with washes mixed from Gamecolor Purple ink. The Alt mode suffers a bit from the lack of articulation from the right arm, but man does he look cool in bot mode (where I'm sure he'll be 99.99% of the time ) Enjoy! Comments Welcome. nice. seriously, why cant hasbro take the energon shockblast mode, repaint it and give it a new arm, it wont effect transformation. god it makes me mad....
That is awesome!!! It is a right of passage too It's after this that I started to work on my Classics Soundwave and then other stuff. Recent;y, my leader Fallen. One day, Devastator. Great job on Shockwave.
Excellent work on this, Earl! I think this ranks up there as my favorite Shockwave now. I love the color on the chest and the purple you used. I've had one of these in a WIP stage since late '08 and I STILL haven't finished it. There are just some customs too cool not to try your own take with, and this is one of 'em. It's always great seeing different takes on certain customs. Keep up the great work, bro!
I've always hated the Shockblast mold, but this is probably the best depiction of Shockwave made from it we've had in ages. The colors are dark enough to give an ominous powerful feeling, while the lights aren't too much as to take away from the total effect. Since mine isn't at hand, and is in fact in bitty bits right now, I can't tell- is the torso modded at all? It kind of looks different (in a good way).
Now that is bad-ass! I never get tired of these Energon Shockwave customs & your's would have to be one of the best . I think it's about time I made myself one...
I know right? I';m sure they have something up their sleeve, or we'll just have to wait for the War For Cybertron release. I think I just went a lil backwards in my order. Nope, not at all, man. Good to see you back on the boards. Keep your nose clean! , That's my new sig right there! Wow, thanks! There have been a few that have really impressed me, but I think I did him justice as well.
The use of the Zoids parts and the paint really help this to come across as somewhere between punk and metal. That means he's awesome. Honestly, he could almost be used in a War For Cybertron setting as well with the deep colors used.
Too bad that bot mode suffers a bit from the right arm... BUT, this is 1 of the BEST shockwaves I have ever seen!!!! GREAT JOB!!!
