Sunstreaker was always my favorite growing up, I've always been in love with yellow Lamborghini's for some reason. I figured since he was my coolest toy as kid, it would be fitting to paint him first. After stripping him down completely, I primed him with Krylon Satin Black Fusion, then airbrushed various Testors enamels and metalizers. I sealed him with Testors gloss clear, after applying the chrome bordered faction logo from Boggs6ft7.
You've done a lovely factory-looking job there. Unfortunately, it's so factory-looking that I think that a lot of people won't really appreciate what you've done.
Thanks guys! I actually wanted it to look as if it came this way, the original color scheme, as well as the yellow of the plastic fell flat in my opinion. I didnt want to make drastic changes, just take the "blah" look and clean it up.
Nice job with this one Jbarb! I know what you mean about the factory cheap plastic look. Now it's definitely a prize piece!
Thanks guys, yeah every once in a while I you come across a figure that really just needs a little cleaning up. This is one of my favorites in the Classics line, I didnt think it needed much. Oh yes, everything is airbrushed except the detail work. Thank you man, I'm particularly proud of this one.
Thanks everyone! I do have a Sideswipe, and another Sunstreaker, but they are reserved for another project. There's a couple more Classics figures on the shelf, I plan to hit them all in the near future. For now, atleast the next week or 2, its all about finishing Devastator.
