This unit started as a joke that rather got out of hand as I went.
Nightbeat is one of my favorite marvel comic characters, and when I found out that he had a 'universe' toy I was delighted and planned to get him once I had a chance. Looking up some new information about him, I found out that another repainted Hot Shot toy that I had (Getaway) had been a team-mate of his in DW comics. That lead to me taking a headless Armada Hot Shot and giving him a TFA Blurr head and new paint job to make him into Siren. Then I decided well, why not take another damaged Hot shot toy (Blue Cybertron mold with a broken waist and hips) and turn him into Joyride with a swivel waist? Then I looked up which characters had worked with Nightbeat from marvel and DW and on a whim looked up the number of different Hot Shot molds and found out that I had enough variations to make the WHOLE team out of Hot Shot molds... Well, I owned all of them except a second red legends Hot Shot and Nightbeat!
So with everyone except Playback, Lug and Nightbeat finished, I figured I might as well show my insanity.
I'll be showing off the team in groups of two, for the most part the 'master pairs.

Siren is the character whom you can firmly place the blame of all this on. If I hadn't had him (and Getaway) the idea of making the whole unit out of Hot Shot molds would have never occurred to me. Siren was made from a Armada Hot Shot who I had bought out of a junk bin sans head. I took the head (and balljoint neck) from a TFA Blurr. Blurr gained a heavier browridge thanks to sculpy and his antennae are simply Blurr's antennae sliced in half along it's length. He was then repainted and given a small amount of silver drybrushing on his black and blue zones. The decal in his altmode is the wave form of a British air-raid siren, something that I felt was fitting given that it is basically his 'name' in waveform and a British siren (I love the UK exclusive comics). I purposefully put his engine in upside down in car-mode to give it the appearance of Siren's hood mounted guns.

Quig is actually Universe Hot shot (Slapdash's) Jolt, repainted in Quig's blue and black, then panel-lined. The only modification he gained was two small strips of styrene attached to his feet to allow him to stand better (the Universe Jolt can't seem to stand on his own worth beans).
