Made from a Universe Hardhead with the turrent and 4 part tank-treads of an Armada Megatron. Conveniently, the two toys have the exact same shade of green plastic (an unexpected benefit). To attach Megatron's turrent, I removed Hardhead's turrent and yanked out his batteries, I had to widen the hole that removing said items created ever so slightly. I then stuck the purple 'waist' attachment that Megatron's turrent attached to the toy with and stuck it into Hardhead now empty belly. The end result is a turrent that sits just the right height above the 'back' of the tank and can still swivel. In robot mode, the turrent will lean forward over Hardhead's shoulder. The four treads will be attached shortly, as right now I'm trying to figure out where to have the new swivel joints in order to have the 'feet' of the Megatron tank-tread lower legs line up with Hardhead's existing feet to give him more stability. The forward facing treads will attach to his shoulders and point up as they are empty and very light. I'm planning on buying the new headmaster-and-guns set for Hardhead that Headrobots will be putting out (well, Hothead) to make him a proper headmaster (and give his turrent more guns ) His shield is being modified so that it can attach to the belly of his alt-mode, as I think it looks rather cool with the crossed out con-symbol
Wait! Stop! Go back!! WHY are there SIX pedals if there are only FOUR directions?! ------- Yeah, I thought of it too when I was making him (I was debating using the megablox Scorpian tank set, but I had the armada megatron laying around and he was sturdier...) The original Hardhead looks even MORE like 'shelia' than my version, what with how far back the turrent is. But yes, I keep thinking of RvB scenes every time I work on him I'll take some more pictures in a bit, the reason it's only the one is because I don't have the treads attached yet as I'm digging through my ratchet joints to find something stiff enough that still rotates the needed 180 degrees, and the Megatron turrent weighs more than the Universe toy turrent, so I need the feet to be wider behind for support. ... Now I'm going to go watch my RvB dvds some more
As promised, an update At the moment the tank treads are being held on with rubber bands as I hunt down those ratchet joints but this at least shows robot mode placement and how it bulks up his legs and changes his silhouette. His head was removed to be used on the Onslaught I'm slowly gathering parts for (got the head, the guns, just need the basis mold ) Oh, the turrent still projects 'Decepticons! Attack!' however thanks to the inconsistencies of the English language this can indicate that decepticons were sighted followed by an order to attack, as opposed to Megatron's original 'ordering decepticons to attack'... mostly I kept it for the shooting noises for his missiles, I shall admit.
