Hi guys, Couldnt find my other thread but here is an update on my MP Snarl. This has been the largest project I have ever undertaken with the amount of scratchbuilding. However, I think I am pleased with the result. As said, this is only 80% complete and the alt mode pics to come once some of the parts dry and complete for sanding. Otherwise, this is getting closer. Here is the bot mode for your preview. Thanks for looking and comments welcomed.
Whoa! Looking sharp there bro! This seems to be falling together quite nicely! Great job! Your scratch building has really come a long way! The only thing that I'd suggest is that you do a bit more sanding and rounding on parts like the dino head. If you smooth the styrene sheets on the side into the face more, I think you'll get a much cleaner look.
Yo Mr Servo.. yeah, the dino head is going to get a sand. I have just applied the putty so need to make sure it cures completely before sanding. Thanks for checking this out bro. Yeah totally agree with you there.
oh kelvin this is awesome snarl is my favorite dinobot. my only critic might b his really thin waist. but all the other stuff look amazing. which head is this?
Thanks man for the comments. Who doesnt like a dinobot huh.. A think waist.. hmmm... He will have greater proportions once the front legs go on and also the dino head. The head was a cast for MP Inferno that I had made for me a while ago. Just amended it a little. Anyway, glad you like this.
Thanks Thyvipera. Glad you like the head. BTW, just saw your Defensor, that thing is epic !! How tall is he? Wing Saber X, thanks man. I still need to attach the dino front legs and head. Some seriuos sanding work to be done particularly around the legs. Then, it should be ready to show the Dino mode. Cool and glad you like this.
this is awesome, before long were going to have the the set here on radicons, i too love snarl, everybody seems to forget him, heck he even got forgotton from the 86 movie, brilliant on all levels, A+ all the best colin
I really like this project. I think it's got a ton of character. Are you going to add some tech detailing to the legs? I really hope so. I think once you smooth out some areas and finish up, you're going to have an epic piece
at last the big project is reveal..like some said sanding need to be done a little bit Kelvin...but the overall appearence of this project--------------->
Compute146, sorry for the late reply. I know, this figure is forever forgotten. Thanks for your comment. Superquad, thank you. Yeah, I did aim to add some personality to him. I will do some more detailing to the legs soon. Tonights pics is with updated smoothing after some serious sand work. Anti-Venom, as always, glad you like it !! Hey wan, yeah, this was what I have been cooking. Sanding is done and should be alot smoother. Still some gaps to fill and solar plates to re-attach to the leg and the head also. Off to paint this baby up... hope to have more updates in the next few days.
woah kelvin! loving the alt mode. and that pic of him beside MP primes cab and trailer is EPIC!! love the size of this guy
Hey Thyvipera, thanks for the comments. He is a big boy... smaller than sludge in scale but slightly larger than Slag.
This is pretty damn cool. My only critique is that the front Dino legs don't really match the rest of the body. They also look a tad on the small side. Bot mode looks great.
Hmmm.. Interesting. I intentionally made the front legs look different. I was trying to match the different styling used in the G1 mold where it was quite different. Though I understand your point. I will look into what I can do. I reckon its a case of adding some more pieces to the front leg to make it look a little more consistent. Thanks for the comment.
