I'm not quite sure what line these guys would fit into, so I'll just leave it at "custom" for now. The body is a lightly modified and touched up Energon Scorponok, and Lord Zarak is made from a Minicon with scratch-built parts added. The symbol is from Reprolabels. What was the trunk (hood?) of the car now forms his neck. The head can swivel and tilt up and down. The head details are all sculpted with epoxy putty or built from styrene.
I cut the shovels in half to give him fingers of a sort and extended the cannons on his hips. With a few snips and a little sanding, I was able to free the chest cannons up so that they can now flip down and do some good in bot mode. The elongated hip cannons and added knee cannons (donated from a stupid '97 Boba Fett jet pack thing) are inspired by original art for the toy that I found. I figured out the base mode by looking at what other people had posted online and tinkering with him myself.
This boy was made for the SECTOR70.com Headmaster Challenge. Big Congrats to Spurt Reynolds and Roboraptor!

I think I might have to go through my minicons and change my Dark Scorponok into a headmaster. That's dang cool.

Thanks so much everyone! I'm glad you like him. When I was making him, I was worried about how the split face would play, but It seems to be going over pretty well. I seem to remember at least one original headmaster having a similar transformation, but I have no solid memory of it. Maybe someone can help me out with that.
The Zarak is made from Spiral, btw.

I think its awesome. I like how when Lord Zarak transforms into Scorponok's head and looking that his face is split down the middle, I'm getting this "splitting headache". LOL

You did a great job on this, as always :thumb

I'd like to see a different faceplate for Scorpy, but I REALLY love everything else you did for Zarak. Great work, man :thumb

That's awesome. I did a custom Classics Scorpy from this mold, but not good enough to do the actual Headmaster yet :)

Oh, and the one with the split face is Apeface :)

Hey, I haven't seen this thread for a while! Thank you! Thanks all! He was a lot of fun to work on. The Zarak was the biggest challenge, but I like working small. There have been a fair number of Minicon Headmasters around since the Sector70 Headmaster challenge. I'd like to think we had some influence on that.
I recently had a friend over whom I hadn't seen in a while. He's a big fan of the Marvel comics and loves Lord Zarak. It was great seeing him flip out when he saw him.
