Hey guys,

Nothing really new here, except a release of a repainted Soundwave and a mini Ravage (original versions here and here). Additionally, I added a neck joint for the satellite mode (first inspired from JinSatome's Soundwave) and LEDs for both figures.

This set is a commission for a good friend. I hope he likes it!

2 Switches were installed on the shoulders; one for on/off, and the other to switch LEDs between modes, so that either head will lit up but not both. Soundwave is powered with 2 button cells, but having no space to place them, I hid them under the 2 wing solar panels.

This is the first custom I used Mr Color silver lacquer paint. Looked slightly more realistic than the acrylic silvers I used before. Takes washes, dusting and rust pretty well too.

Problems:
The wiring process is a nightmare. There was almost no margin for error and I have to work within very small areas. Exhilarating.

Mixing LED colours on parallel circuits is pretty risky. The blues tend to fade out faster except on fresh new batteries. Soundwave is a pretty power-hungry bot, no wonder he rapes satellites everyday...

I still face various problems with paint rub, even after much preparation work. The culprit areas are mainly the soft, rubbery plastic used on Soundwave's thighs, arms and solar panel arms. The way the legs transform doesn't help either, as paint keeps getting scraped off. Grrrr...

Carefully separate the head by cutting the grey plastic. The ball joint came from a spare kotobukya ball joint which I sculpted-fixed on. I dremeled the socket from the head to fit. Quite an easy mod.

Man, this is EXACTLY why you are a top five favorite radicon for me. Unbelievable. That photo of him orbiting earth looks BETTER that the movie CGI. I Sh*t you not. I seriously could not believe that photo. The LED work is astounding. i LOVE the red visor.

Top notch work, my friend. You took one of my favorite action figures and made it the best that it can look. Unreal.
