He's complete now. Finished him up, and took more pics. I decided to make him a Decepticon. Seemed to me if there were gonna go the whole evil Prime route, they should have used this paint scheme. Looks so much better than the black and teal for Nemesis Prime. Would've killed two birds with one stone. Homage to the Diaclone, and evil Prime for the cartoon all at once. Hmm.. that gives me an idea... RID Scourge in these colors?

A full week to cure? Is it common to have to wait that long for reassembly?

Not necessarily, but the directions on the can say it dries in 15 minutes, but is not "fully chip resistant" until 7 days. I figured it was best to wait that long to keep from doing any unnecessary scratching.

Nice custom, I'm liking this mold a lot more now that it's being used more often, its really growing on me. Finally got one myself, not sure what to do with it yet. The Diaclone colors look very nice, maybe I'll go that route too. What kind of paint did you use, enamel? I've never had to wait more than a couple days for acrylic, but I dont find them quite so chip resistant.

Krylon Fusion. Super durable, just needs plenty of time to cure.

Yeah, I used to do model cars as a kid ( after I was out of Transformers ) so kitbashing was a natural extension. Back when Armada came out, I popularized the dying method with RIT dye. Then I had cast some of the long smoke stacks for MP Prime and sold those painted silver until someone released some real chrome ones. Started a few projects since then, but rarely finished them. I made an awesome MP Ramjet a couple years ago, but those fragile wing hinges broke as I was taking him apart to paint. :(

I wait that long normally. Depends on the amount of rub on the fig, though. 5 days minimum is kinda my standard (AZ climate helps the cure process).

Good work, bro. Nice to see you bashing. :thumb

Weird, I usually give it a couple of hours to a day.

    Nice job regardless.

This looks great, bro. I'm really glad to see you finish a project as it's been a long while for ya :)  Your "comeback" choice could hardly be better imo. Powered Convoy = WIN

I think you did a really nice job with this overall. A coat of Future would seal it off nicely :)  That Kyrlon blue matches very well. :thumb

    Yes it is.

I just had a promising phone call with a company here in the US that can produce them for me. Gonna take some work, but they should be available by Botcon. *prays* I'll be starting up a new garage company. :D

Great paintwork here. I have to say though the colors aren't really screaming evil Prime to me though. Seems like the color scheme might be good for a Shatter Glass Ultra Magnus though
