Welp, I used an airbrush for the first time ever and I must say I am impressed. First, it's a lot of fun and easy to use. This is my current WIP Cybertron Prime. I'll post up more and more as it finishes up.

I got an airbrush recently too.. Totally awesome how well it sprays compaired to spraypaint!

What type of paint were you using? Acrylic or Enamel?

For now until I learn how to clean it, it is acrylic. I may and most likely will switch to enamels for base coats. It all depends on how these acrylics turn out. They've done me well for hand brush apps. Thanks!

Looks like the priming process is going well, what kind are you using? That little tool will save you so much time and make your work that much better. I was able to finish 2 commissions recently with an airbrush in less time than it took to do the same exact custom hand brushed, and they looked 20 times better.

Nice! I am actually using an Iwata HP C Plus. I was able to get so much done on this guy already and the layers go down so nice! Thanks!

WOW!! and I thought your dry-brush work was impressive; your results with the airbrush are very good. I like the effect you were able to acheive with this one. Looking forward to more pix. Are you painting this for yourself or a commission?

Nice head!! Here's what I have so far. I want to make Ultra Magnus come to life with the trailer, leg add ons, and big guns.
RC, this may end up on ebay, not sure yet, thanks!

This is still not finalized yet, still got a lot of detailing to do.

    nice piece.

is it on purpose that his feet are positioned that way? I'm guessing your gonna be hiding the white painted wheels as well?

Gauge, thanks. I like the feet with the extensions used so it makes him taller. I think he looks out of proportion the other way. I plan on correcting the wheels later: I'll just take flat black and go over the wheel and then prolly chrome the rims after. I am working on the trailer later today, my little brother is going to color test it on photoshop to see what color scheme will look the best.

    Thanks!

Thanks! I just finished his leg armor and guns. Here's an update. I still have to fine tune their edge work and do some more details overall, but I should be all through with this one by the weekend.

I am thinking I will bring the blue around the front large foot also and then add a red stripe or two down the leg armor on the sides. I'll fix the bottom wheels and then add the trailer armor some time tomorrow. I also want to add more cab details and front legs details.

I too am afraid to use enamels with my airbrush.

Too hard to clean! I use acrylics only for now.. :)

Yeah, that's what I've been told so I don't even want to go there right now, for me this is a fun hobby, not a full time job. If it were FT, then I'd deal with enamels. Maybe later down the road.

    * I just finished his trailer. Now I just have to do the big guns, and add some pin striping here and there and this Ultra Magnus will be all done!

    UPDATE: All through!

Well, his battle armor is done and attached. I taped off and sprayed some red striping effects on the main wing sections and the rear end of the armor. I may end up doing the actual wings as well.

I also did the large guns and branded his shoulders with autobot stickers.

Now he sits right next to my Cybertron Motormaster (same figure) and I don't mean the FP U. Magnus pictured.
