Use Universe Dropshot (or Cybertron Defense Scattershot, whatever) for Bonecrusher. Remove the missile blocks, but use the arms/turret zone as the connection area for the combiner shoulder joint. It'll give Devastator some awesome *built-in* ratcheted arm articulation without having to resort to Unicron/Primus add-on parts. ;)

Thought it might be a little obvious when I posted those examples. ;)

The Dropshot is great and I've been mocking it up a bit -- however the turret doesn't rotate as freely as I'd like, but its a connection option I will explore for sure.

What about using Energon Steamhammer for Scavenger?

I'm going with a heavily modded ROTF Demolishor, the Steamhammer is too small for this. I'm trying to get Demolishor to look like his G1 Scavenger counterpart in bot mode, none of this "I'm-a-unicycle" shit. LOL.

Here's the 'Voyager' class Scrapper I'm working on, still working out the arms and head... its tough trying make a Transformer out of something that did not have a bot mode in the first place. LOTS more work to do....

Hehe thanks, however I think its safe to say that he won't have a Bionicle head. Or those arms. The arms have to be slender enough to fit underneath -- I have a way of raising his ride height for more clearance, but sorting through and finding out which arms work 'just right' is a process.

Heh thanks! Check through the thread for other pics of mock-ups I'm working on. I really love the Armada Megatron mold for Scavenger, Frenzy_Rumble's Headmaster using that mold really opened my eyes to it, and it looks to be just about the right size too. But I want something a little more realistic looking for the alt mode, something that might've been built by humans and used in tough conditions. So I came up with this for Scavenger, just a mock-up for now (won't be using Bionicle feet or the Megs head). It will be fully articulated with hands or claws... But if I do this right, he'll be....tall....

The only pad parts about that mold imo are the head and the missile. But the missile comes off and the head isn't too terrible.

I have to ask, how did you attach the rear rotating crane to the sliding piece on his back? I would love to turn the missile railing into a cannon with turret as I figured this mold would make an excellent base for a Hardhead custom. Did you just hack off the rail and glue the base of the crane right to the sliding connector piece or something?

Also, can't wait to see this Devs, being at this scale it should be easier to integrate connector pieces and full limbs so there's less parts-forming. I'm sure there's still going to be some, but either way this will be an impressive piece.

I had to figure out how to integrate it so that the sliding function still worked, and also the side-to-side function of the crane deck, but not be so tall that it looked like it was floating above the vehicle. Also stiffness was a big problem, the factory plastic "rocket rail" was a) too tall and b) too flimsy once I cut it down.

So I epoxied in a few pieces of carbon fiber to get it to the height needed to clear the side when it slides over, and used the top of Mudflap's forearm where the crane connects, and epoxied that to the carbon fiber rail. Its still really rough, but you can sorta see what I did. A little sanding, putty, and paint and it'll be smooth.

Also, I added a little support brace (the blue arch thing, its one of Mudflap's fenders, shortened and reinforced with CF) to keep the weight of the crane from sagging down when in alt mode.
