Everyone and their mom has done a classics Soundwave, but I've never seen anyone use this mold, which is amusing because it comes with Ravage. Anyways, I'm not quite done with this yet. I've more or less decided on the color scheme, but I've still got to decide how to attach the head and I still need to remold the shoulder cannon (and paint Ravage).

Anyways, there's a little story with the pictures: Soundwave really wanted a classics repaint so he told me to make one out of Hound. Hound overheard and took up arms (screwdriver and paintbrush) to stop me, but Soundwave sent out the acrobots (the metal dude and dragon) to take Hound and Ravage out. The rest are just WIP pictures. Ravage is going to get a brand new paint scheme too but I'm missing one of the colors that I know I'll need so he'll come later and no one will ever guess what character he'll be when I'm done.

    Colors so far:
    Chaos Black
    Ultramarine Blue
    Codex Grey
    Skull White
    Blood Red.
Planning on using Golden Yellow as well. If I decide to add some mud for character when I'm done it'll be bestial brown or graveyard earth.

Since I'm not 100% locked down on the color scheme I'd happily take some feedb on that. Just don't tell me that the blue is too light, because I know it's a bit light and I'm going probably going to leave it that way. I'm also considering making that blue area in the back of the jeep yellow instead since that's where the tapes go in alt. mode, so feedback on that would be helpful.

    Anywho, enough rambling.

*EDIT 2/18* New pics. Paint finished except for small touch-ups and the new gun. Still need to figure out how exactly to attach the head.

Thanks! I can't bring myself to do a custom that someone else has already done. It just doesn't feel creative to me. That, and if it's been done then it's probably been done better than I can do it. That being said, this mold makes a great Soundwave, so I have no idea why it hadn't yet been done.

Very creative and works so well with the fact that Ravage was part of the original package

VERY nice! I great idea. The colors look great. As for the yellow, how about the front grill since that becomes the chest in bot mode.

Haha, I was totally thinking about doing this with parts from a Titanium Soundwave, but I lost interest. It's only fitting with Ravage being able to attach in jeep mode.

But I will ask you this: if you were going to have Soundwave's thighs be white, why did you even bother repainting them when they're already molded white to begin with?

Looks good, cracking idea, especially with the Ravage cassette add-on from the original figure.

That was a total lack of for-thought or planning on my part. I painted the entire thing grey and then started with the white. I may use some kind of cleaner to remove the paint from the thighs, but at this point I'm guaranteed that the white on the thighs matches the white elsewhere on the figure so I'll probably just leave them painted (after I do some major touch-ups).

That is my intent. I'll also color the headlights and the lights above the windshield yellow as well. The smaller/back grill and assorted stuff back there will most likely be white.

Nice!! Something totally different. An original looking shoulder cannon and a little bashing up for a proper tape deck would definitely be perfect for me. Thanks for sharing something new, open up ideas!
