He's baaaAAAaaack

That’s right, the original leader from Transformers Super-God Masterforce has been given a much needed updating and upgrading. This figure was inspired after watching the series, thoroughly enjoying it and surprised to find how much little love there was for this Autobot Commander. Suffice to say I don’t even think many Transfans even know of Metalhawk’s existence since he has not had an updated figures since the original, only a PVC and ok model kit that came out for Wonderfest, and few customs done for him that I felt captured what the original brought to the table urged me to do justice to this character. Noticing how close Cyclonus’s chest, head, and alt mode were to Metalhawk I chose him as a starting mold. Lots went into building this guy so I don’t think I want to type it all out, comparing him to the original should give you an idea of what was done.  

Hopefully the few Masterforce and Metalhawk fans out there enjoy this piece, there are tons of pictures taken, many will be added to the gallery section on cybertron.ca in time but there is more now on my Deviantart page. Eventually I’m also going to get around to making his pretender “shell” but I figured this guy should be shared as he’s finished now.

In the attached images you can see his various weapons, all homages to the original, sans the arm blasters which give him ranged weaponry when using the titanium buster saber. Much love to dak for some tips and influence along the way. With that said...SUIT ON!.....PRETENDER!!!!

That's really awesome. I'd not have thought of using Cyclonus as the base mold, but you really pulled that off well.

 

*nods head* As Locustreign said, It definitely wouldn't have crossed my mind to base him on a Cyclonus but you've done one-hell-of-a-job capturing Hawk's likeness. Great stuff Mate!  

Can I put in a request for more jet-mode pics? Maybe some from overhead?  

 

Hmmmmrrrrrmmmm now that you mention it I don't have any over head shots...I'll try to get one as soon as I have some time, gotta set up the shoot and get him back in vehicle mode  

In the mean time I hope this should suffice...yes that is orange in his feet simulating the 4 engines he had lol

This looks really nice, and it's a great use of the mold. I love how smooth you got the gold paint on the torso to look; that stuff can be a pain to apply.

Super-God Masterforce was my favorite after the original series. I like how you used universe cyclonus for this.  

 

This is so wicked cool, but I bet the podcasters here would love to see this badboy.

Thank ya thank ya sir, used the Ark vol 2 a lot to pull this off. He's mostly based off the animated model but took the gold more from the toy and gave him a silver face instead of white...also a few creative additions here and there like the abs (thought straight gold like he originally had looked bland)

Oh that Wonderfest Metalhawk....I dunno even that didn't really do it for me when I saw it last year, the alt mode really looses it as well and the yellow....mmmrrrmmmm....BTW your reaction had me laughing for a little bit. I'm amazed at the reactions this bad boy is gettin.

Very well done. I love Metalhawk, he's an unsung Cybertron commander. Any thought of doing Blood? The same mold would work really well.

Ok after some much thought, I could see it working but I think the more suiting mold (though would be smaller then MH) would be Energon Skyblast...buuut mod the legs, new head, make the original cockpit his rear tail fin, turn around the alt mode, give it a new cockpit round where the engine is, somehow round out the engines and give it a new look, give him some new blasters that can mount on the alt mode like the original, paint that up....would make a much more suiting Blood.

Since he's small too one could also make a larger pretender shell that would be bigger than Metalhawk. The scout figure can fit in the chest cavity
