So, finally, after that fateful day at the 2007 BotCon- I have an Alternators Motormaster again!   Seeing as this is the same thing as before, I didn't go full-tilt with a gallery for it. But, I also made one as a commission for Superquad7, so I took a couple of comparison shots. The only differences are that his stripes are limited to just the hood (because the only real-world photograph of a truck like this only had the hood painted this way), and the head.

The head on Allen's isn't final, it's too big, and would have to be removed for transformation, but it's on there so you can at least see what he's going for.

These are practically straight repaints, but they have new heads of course, and I did the leg mod so he's taller than Prime. I think it really makes the figure look better proportionally.

 

05-26-2010 Delivery Arrival and Unpacking!  

Here are photos of me unpacking my Motormaster I commissioned REDLINE to make for me, as he's already discussed. I've still got to do the work on the head, but I'm really thrilled to [finally] have this in my collection!

 

Love how you didn't kill it with all that black. Where did you get the head from? Yeah, more ALT/BTs!!!!

 

I love that the stripes are wide and aren't limited to the hood. Do they continue down the tailgate?

 

no, just the spoiler, cab, and hood. Which head is being referred to? The one that's too big is RID Magnus' head, and the other is one that was made by Sculpt-bot before he hung it up.

 

Looks great. Too bad no one ever contacted you with the original. (I wonder if someone took it or if it ended up in the garbage? Probably never know)

Did you find it any easier, to bash, for these two? Did you make any changes with the mod?

Did you make any for the rest of us? (Superquad7 does love his Alts)

you'd be correct. Happened on Sunday, I set my box that he and my Legends Punch/Counter-punch were in on the TFW table(just before the dealer room closed for good) to help Rik Alvarez carry his massive haul out to his van. The box had my name and address on it in large print via Sharpie, so it if ended up in the trash, that person's a jerk.  

Only thing I changed from the original is that instead of tinting both the front and back windows, I only tinted the rear windows to be more realistic. The tint is a dark purple, as I see a lot of vehicles with aged tint turned purple, and I thought that worked great seeing as the original had purple windows.

It was a little easier to do, especially the striping, than the first go-round, for sure. I still find two-toning the whole thing (all truck parts are silver, except wheel-wells and the underside, as per a real truck) to be a huge PITA, but it's worth it: the subtle hue difference between the light grey and the silver is pretty sexy in person.

 

Andy, the truck I saw had the stripe the whole way, not just the hood   you cant tell from the bad quality cell phone pic but it was definitely on the roof and tailgate

I only have one photo reference of a factory silver SRT-10 with the black stripes on the hood. Dodge utilized the Viper striping when applied as well for the SRT-10. While cool, the photo of the single stripe looks like a custom job from an owner. Dodge made them in silver sans stripes as well (which is the paint scheme plowking used for the Alternators Megatron I purchased from him). Essentially, I just wanted a small difference in alt mode for Alternators Motormaster and Alternators Megatron

I realize that some of my photos in the second post aren't the greatest, but I did want to post an update after I finally got this from REDLINE. Last week was the project from clay, and this past week was this one from RL.   Ol' Quaddy here has been a really happy guy the last little bit with TFs  

 

i am so glad you have him back so to speak but I remember the 07 one I was there and it was sweet and these are just as awesome

 

I won't speak for REDLINE here, but for me, often times a second go around on the same custom allows one to see things in a different light and to approach certain things one sees in hindsight after the first one is finished.

Personally speaking, I'll be glad when I get the finishes on mine completed, as I still have some work to do on the head. I'll come back to this thread and update it with the work I'll end up doing with mine.  

 

This photo is a little old, but the portions I'm thrilled with is that I had actually misplaced it and found it tonight! In my excitement, I started painting over the black base you can see in this photo:




If you guessed that it's an Energon Megatron head, you'd be right! It was a head from a lot of parts I got from vector due to him passing away. For this fact and the fact that I put a lot of work into modifying it, I was VERY upset that I misplaced it. I used some epoxy putty for additional sculpting as well.
