This is a custom repaint of Universe Starscream...The Autobot version of Starscream...STARFIRE!! Hand painted with enamels (Mostly dry brushing...articulated hands and a LED gun for him. Character Bio: Starscream was frustrated with not able to overthrow Megatron...he decided to switch to the Autobots faction to "show" that Megatron cannot defeat him(Starscream) if he was with the opposition side, that he can be a better leader. True enough, alongside with jetfire, he led the aerialbots into a convincing victory in a battle where Dirge and Thrust perished. Incorporating the Starburst pulse cannon into his arms and fists, he surprised trhe Decepticons when he pulverised Thrust in a single blast. To top that, the lava blast cannon which perceptor gave him demolished the fleeing Dirge..... But.....being the traitor that he is....who knows for how long will he stay an Autobot.........
Hey zfeakye, I love the way you controlled the paint, very sharp, nice. But I was abit distracted by the 'powdery' texture though. Was it intentional? Apart from that, the colour scheme is great! Reminds me of Strafe. And articulated hands! That actually fit deluxe figures! Where did you get those from?
Interesting idea for a unique character. The chromatic colors you chose compliment the story nicely and the LED in the gun is a very nice touch. The bright saturated orange hands stand out considering the same color isn't used anywhere else on the figure which creates a strong focal point directly in the middle of the figure instead of leading the viewers eye around the whole thing. The dry brushing is definitely a bit heavy and looks like he was rolled around in powered sugar. Maybe try a metallic silver paint to give the impression of metal on just the black parts of the figure and using a lighter value of the colored areas to achieve a similar effect. Some of the recessed areas on the figure could have used a wash to really make the dimensions pop. I love the articulated hands and the alt mode is where the figure really shines. The photos are also nicely done and the lighting and overall composition is professional. Are you planning on creating more unique seekers? Nice! 7/10
I really like the color scheme, theres just one thing that bugs me. I feel like the white on his chest needs to be broken up with some detailing or something of that sort? The chest just sort of has an unpainted feeling to it right now. Otherwise, awesome job, the colors you used work very well together.
I'm diggin' it. I like the colors and you have an interesting little story to go with it. I must echo an earlier question. Where did the hands come from?
The hands are 1/100 gundam hands. Hi all, thanks for the compliments, appreciate it!! the dry brushing effect was on purpose, there was no names i was considering...Snowstorm or Starfire....Didn't know there was a female comic character already using this name...LOL guess Snowstorm would have been a better name? thanks for the advice too! Right now there are no plans for more unique seekers and washing is one thing which i have not done or tried out...i'm hoping to do one soon but not before i research thoroughly on the procedure...or i try with a testformer....
Very nice character! I like the color combo a lot! The hands are a nice touch, but I wish they could be integrated instead of being pop on style. But since the overall effect works I can happily live with it! He looks great! Nice cannon too!
lots of battle damage, makes it look like he went through a volcano. I like it alot! Some paint apps could be put onto the chest or arms, maybe just some touching up, but other than that it looks great
