    Hey Gang!

Just wanted to share a little something that I did way back in '93. At the time, I was working my first professional job in the toy-prototype industry & one of my fellow co-workers saw that I could make very tiny things. One week, I brought my old Battlestar kit in to work on during my lunch breaks. My friend passed by my workbench, saw me workin on it & said" I bet you're not crazy enough to make some colonial vipers in scale with that". I looked at him & said, laughlingly" Oh...REALLY?? is that a challenge I hear?" heheh... About a week later I came back with the pattern for my little Vipers ( just 3/16" long ) & when I showed it to him he said " You've got issues" Haahaaha...aaah, the good 'ol days, god how I miss 'em!
Anyway, fast forward to several years later, I had it cast up numerous times, hand painted each one of these guys & finally had myself a squadron!

And somehow... the Battlestars' still not finished....DOH!!

All that aside, I just wanted to convey to everyone how much I'm dedicated to attention to "the little things in life"

    ~Enjoy!

WTF scale is that? It's smaller than N scale, so I'm gonna call it D-scale, for 'DAMN that shit is tiny!' How the hell did you paint them? Did you use a hair follicle???

    Hey A.C.!
LMAO!!! "D-scale"!! I LOVE IT! Gonna stick with that if ya dont mind? If I remember correctly, i painted these guys with a 10/0 super spotter detail brush ( only slightly bigger than a hair follicle :lol )

As for the real scale, hmmm... I believe that old Battlestar kit is somewhere around the 1/4195 scale mark....mebbe..??

If thats the case, I may have made these guys too dam big....Hmmm....mebbe I should make a New,smaller one then....?? Or am I just

Yep grossly out of scale, MUCH to big. Luckily with a scanning electron microscope you should be able to build some proper scale ones out of bucky-balls without too much trouble ;)

AMAZING work, definitely something to be proud of! Glad to hear you cast most of the squadron though, scratch building each one would be too painful to contemplate :LOL

The name is all yours - I for one am incapable of painting on a scale that small. I haven't seen details this small since those little hand-written bibles that are used as necklace charms. Lastly I don't know if you'd want to make them smaller - try making the Battlestar bigger. Any smaller and if you breathe in too deeply you're going to inhale the Vipers.

This is Battlestar Galactica, not The Incredible Journey.

They might be too big in relation to the Battlestar, but I don't think you could get much tinier! And no, that's not a challenge. I'm quite impressed with what you've already accomplished! ;)

    Amazing job!
