    hi guys!
this is my first custom, i allways wondered why a important character like Unicron never had an official G1 release, so i made one myself. i took Darth Vader / Death Star Crossover and transformed into unicron, it took a little time, a little money and a little work, but it sure paid out!
i can nearly resume this in a mastercard commercial cliché...

    Darth vader crossover - 20€
    2 cans of spray paint - 5€
    modeling paste - 2€

the felling of adding something to the transformer world... Priceless

if you think i can improve something, or want to express an opinion please do =) i will apreciate

my english is not the best, i'm portuguese, but hope you guys can understand

Very impressive, especially for a first custom.

    LOVE the wood-screws-as-spikes :)

Does he strill transform withthe giant horns?

I would be curious to know why you decided to use Vader instead of Unicron as your base figure (You're not the first!) I think Vader is over all a slightly better toy, but the Unicron Mold is really pretty nice. I'm interested in knowing your creative-thinking :)

Everyting you sculpted came out pretty good, the abdomen area is especially nice.

For a first-project, this is really very good!

This looks really good, especially for it being your first custom.

    Great execution of concept too.

Perhaps, you could take it a step further and dry brush all grey parts
to be gun metal ? Prime them black first, then dry brush the gunmetal paint on top.

Yes is still fully transformable, the horns are detachable, to be used in planet mode. I have chosen vader for several reasons, easier to get, it transforms in a ball (not like armada unicron), the sculpt needed was easier, and was realy cheap (20€ shipped).
maybe i can get the armada unicron fists and some elements of the waist so i can keep this as near as possible of the g1
also, there is a lot of detail missing, but i was out of white paint

I think my only concern is with the screws just left there. Do you plan on dulling those down at all?

Overall though, a fantastic job. Can't wait for more pictures as painting goes on. Also would like to see a couple of comparison shots to either G1 figures or some Classics. I honestly have no idea how tall the Death Star crossover is.

I dunno. He has this weird 'Tom Selleck' look, it'd look better if he had a beard.

let's see some of those planet mode pictures :)

the vader was a good choice to start with, i like the proportions more than armada unicron

Damn! I thought about the Death Star as Unicron. You made me wish I had actually got him. Very good.
