Dead End started as Alt Shockwave, with a left hand donated from a junker Jazz. His head was a quick conversion from Decepticharge's, with a new faceplate and visor added. The doors have a new place on the arms in robot mode, thanks to a newly added peg. They simply peg into the existing holes on the upper arms.

The main color was achieved by spraying Model Master Stoplight Red (which is semi-clear) directly over the orginal purple color. In person it is a gorgeous dark red pearl color, which unfortunately I couldn't quite get to photograph properly. Oh well. Oh, and strangely enough the camera seems to capture what appears to be alot of bleed-through of the purple on the edges, which totally isn't there in person, or at least not nearly as pronounced.
The gold stripes are the same vinyl stripes I've been using all the way back since my Alt Ironhide, and numerous projects inbetween. Some of the best $9 I've spent  Decepticon logo's are all Reprolabels.

nice! the paint is nice and smooth, and the head-sculpt is very cartoon accurate

 

If there's one thing i don't like, it's the the two triangular bits of plastic at the top of the windscreen are painted red. I almost mistakenly thought that the paint had spilled onto the windshield.

Otherwise, the thing looks great and the door mod is fantastic. Nice headsculpt, BTW.

One thing: Where'd you get them vinyl stripes from?

 

Surprisingly, they're not painted! Somehow they're reflecting, or having a light-pipe effect from the painted roof. I noticed that in the pics when I was editing them and had to go back and look at the acutal figure.

I got the stripes from my local hobby shop. They come rolled in a tube with multiple widths per package. They're availible to various colors and made by Pactra, I think they're intended for R/C cars.

 

As much as I hate the cartoon heads for the Stunticons, nice work.

 

Absolutely beautiful. The gold stripes are gorgeous, and I simply love the toon accurate head. Boom. I'm glad you picked the RX-8 as Dead End, I have something very very similar commissioned.

I love that red you used! The mods you've done to the head are nice too. While I know what you're going for, the D-con symbols on the alt mode look a bit odd. The gold stripes and details really make this guy pop as well. Great job, man  

 

Amazing work! The car mode totally rocks. The moded head is really sharp.

Only thing that I don't like are the Con symbols on the doors....other than that, it's fantastic

Thanks everyone! And yeah, if it was for my own collection the symbols on the doors would have stayed off. But my buyer wanted them and loves them, so I'm happy.

It'd be nice if I could recast the heads, but it's something that I really don't want to even get into, I've barely got enough time to work on what I have!

BTW, for those of you who don't like the Con symbols on the doors, did you watch G1??? Decepticon symbols are on the doors and they look excellent!!!
