Hi everyone. I am very new to repainting and tried to repaint a small plastic version of Sideways. Would you please take a look at my photos and give me your opinion? I'd like to continue to develop my skill, and your commentary (good, bad, or constructive) would be much appreciated. I used a paintbrush and Testor enamel paints, and I'm providing before and after photos (see further below in the thread for these pix) Thanks!

    Welcome to Radicons spire widow,

This is legends size, I'm really impressed by the size of the toy and the amount of detail you added to the engine, very nice. Also the paint looks nicely applied, good and smooth.

I'd say you're doing very well in this hobby so far. So long as you enjoy it.

Could you post robotmode pictures please?

This is a Legends Sideways & the paintjob looks great to me - but you missed painting over the rear-windows, in the movie these are solid panels (most noticeable b/c of the gas cap on one side) plus the door panel under the window is also solid black (see examples).

But I agree - you've done an amazing job on him, especially as small as he is!

Thanks everyone. Here are the Robot pix...

Thanks everyone for your comments. You've given me incentive to keep trying. I'm a conventional 2D artist of oils and watercolors but I am now enjoying 3D art as well. Much obliged to all of you who took the time to share your comments! Here are the front and back photos of the full body Transformer Sideways for your review. I also added some more detail to the engine just for fun...

This looks great. I love all of the details, and you couldn't have picked a better mold and character to start out with. Welcome to Radicons :thumb

    Should I list on Ebay?

Thanks again everyone for your comments and for welcoming me to Radicons. I'm wondering if I could earn a little extra moo-lah by listing this (and more to come) on Ebay. If so, what would you expect to see this TF selling for?

    Thanks again!

not sure, you could always do what an old teacher recommended - take the cost of the base (in this case, the figure), add the cost of materials (decent guess) & that to your hourly wage.

For example, if it took you 3 hrs @ $5/hour that's $15 - plus paint cost & figure cost....

Very nice job! Plus, I actually like the name Sidewinder better than Sideways. :)

Seeing the pics of the real car makes me want to do my own custom of the deluxe version.
