Actually the stock Aso-Block "Foot" part is VERY similar in design to the traditional Rodimus foot-shape, so yeah, that might well be a perfect solution for ya!

While waiting on the asoblocks (which arrived today) I decided to work on the helmet. It didnt turn out too bad, wasnt sure what exactly I wanted it to look like which makes things difficult.lol. What do you guys think?

From what I can tell, the helmet makes his neck disappear... could you take a full body pic with the helmet?

the helmet itself looks good, maybe just introduce and armored collar for the helm to sit on?

Man, I give you much credit for making it look just like your illustration. It must feel pretty incredible to design something on paper and see it actually happen in 3d.

Your doing an inspirational job with the styrene BTW for a first timer.

do the arm (ultra magnus esque) pillars limit shoulder rotation?

He looks more "Prime" than "Rodimus" with the helmet, if you know what I mean, but over all, I think the whole project is coming along great!

Thanks, so far im pleased overall, cant wait to get to some of the more detailing aspects. Probable going to rework the crotch plate too since it doesnt fit as well as Id like after getting used to working more with the sytrene, and including the plastics thickness in my measuring. lol.

Yeah as I was making it it kinda came out that way. My problem is coming up with an idea thats more "Rodimus" that I can do with styrene. lol. My attempts at scuplting when I first began this were less than satisfactory. haha.

They do at the moment, havent decided yet if I will leave them like that or not since his back pack limits his rotation already.

Thanks for all the feedback on things to work on and Im going to fiddle with the neck thing and see how it turns out. It helps alot hearing what you all think and ways to improve.

Another questions I have for you guys while Im thinking about it is what weapon should I make for him? What would fit the character better? Some cool dual pistols, a rifle, or a BFG?

I DEFINITELY vote for a rifle! One of the things I loved most about the original Rodimus toy was that not only was he a big buffed-up Hot-Rod, his Rifle was a enongated-beefed-up version of Hot Rod's pistol.

Really helped sell the concept, IMO.

Interesting, I hope it works out in the end. This kind of custom is tricky, probably why I have never tried it.

Updated with some pics of my new helmet. I feel its a bit more "Rodimus" than the previous one.

    OK, that IS more Rodimus'y

If the burning Winnebago ever decided to don a facemask, this is probably what it would look like ;)

Ive been working on some detailing the last few nights. Also got the feet attatched using joints from asoblocks. Waiting on some hands to arrive before trying out my idea to make them work in trailer mode. (if I can pull it off)
