I FINALLY started working on my ROTF Megatron. It won't be just a repaint either. I'm doing the arm mod. I found the perfect joint to use for the elbow, that I haven't seen anyone use before. I used ROTF Scorponok's elbow and it fits perfectly and looks very clean. I couldn't take the right shoulder apart so I had to cut the back piece of the upper arm after I unscrewed it. I had to trim the insides and sand Scorponok's elbow a little but it fits. The next step is finding a way to attach the lower arm to the elbow. I plan on replacing the stupid gimp arm.
He'll be painted like my other Megatrons. A lot of sliver. This guy will take a while because I want to find the arm to replace the gimp one. It took a while to find the right elbow joint.
you should splice on the rotation joint thats on the back scorponoks claw, that way you have rotation at 2 points Also I recommend doing the folding claw mod to the flip down "axe", because it just looks awesome.
Yep http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radic...otf-leader-megs-transformable-murder-arm.html You don't have to use ROTF mudflaps joints, actually I'm thinking about using a bionicle balljoint so I can open and close the claw
Six months later.... Anyone know how to take the arm off of the TFTM Megatron? I unscrewed the shoulder but seems like the arm won't come apart.
Pop them off how? I can't get those suckers off. I guess I can break them off but I would like to keep the rest of the figure for parts. I took the 2 screws out of the shoulder but nothing happens.
well done solrac. I would love to do this to my Megs, but I am going to wait until the TF3 leader to see what they do with it. I can't see them changing his design again. I think that would be sill at this point. HOWEVER!! If they do I will so be having someone give my M.A. the elbow treatment and beefing up the gimpy arm as well.
