hey guys after reading up on some painting lessons i painted up my second or third paint work ever on my custom Halo warthog who is in pieces right now.(u can check him out at earlier stages here) Unfortunately i did not know the difference of acrylics for plastic and acrylic craft paint until after the first coat.. but i continued it anyways with a dark green and then did my FIRST dry brush EVAR with some mixed green and testors silver enamel. there is two picks showing the detail on his arms from the dry brush job, im quite pleased with my first attempt I have some clear coat for all parts that were coloured (considering it was all markers and craft paint) im going to give his BR pistol a better handle and my new Mark IV is just barely paid for so i will show him finished with the ODST head first. Im going to look for alternate hands as well because he cant hold his halo pistol or shot gun with both hands. So maybe when i swap out his head i will have hands for him aswell. (really need some help finding hands guys im on quite a budget as far as buying a BT just for hands goes..) aaand oh boy who likes that SEXY turret pistol? I also plan on making a scratch built SPNKr rocket launcher. I'm also gonna get my hands on a sniper rifle from the same halo 2 figure series if i can. sorry bout the pic quality i don't own a cam n my phone takes terra-bad close ups. : / plz tell me what u think! Warthog Ironsight complete!..ish lots of pic's now hes put together i didnt really let the craft paint set cause it already came off and seized his arm, wile i fixed that alot came off on my hands because it is marker and poster paint. Phooey. i will let him be untill i get proper paint asap. I did get some hands off a BT hummer KO (gonna get a real hound and transfer die cast parts!) and those mits hold his shotty as good as can be. the knife sheath isnt on him yet but im thinking in the leg hole from the gun peg in the leg concealing it : P and there's a quick pic of me with my first full figure custom infront of my shelf representing the Canada transformers lololol I will note i don't own a dremmel or electric cutting tool, i use kitchen knives and utility knives, and sharpened flat screw drivers to chisel. everything's kind of hand kitbashed d^_^b this made me realize i have alot of halo figs.. tell me what you think!
guys where is the love?? he`s a flippin' warthog! with a shotgun!! he`s my first friggin complete custom and i think i did a damn good job turning an RC car into a transformer.
unfortunately only the robot mode is scale, the one picture with spartans on him are the two 1 inch figs that came with the warthog. His weapons and ODST head are scale though, pretty much the whole inspiration for this guy.
Much luv here man, this is a helluva start & I think you did a killer job for your first custom! Both modes are fantastic, there's not many people that can pull that off. I'm a Halo freak myself, Legendary player on Halo 1 and 2, (didn't get the 360 yet) so I can appreciate this entirely. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that loves Halo as much as Transformers! I've been pondering this crossover concept for a long time, and I knew it was just a matter of time before somebody did it because it's just so damn cool!!! Keep it up man, I'll be watching the progress on this. All you really need for bot mode is a few armor plates on his chest to resemble the suit....Clean that thing up and get a neat paint job with some good strong acrylics or enamels, and you'll have one of the most bad-ass crossovers out there!
thanks allot for your support! I will definitely be painting him as soon as i get my hands on some non enamel testors or krylon. Im also going to retool his arms so the back end can level out better in warthog mode, as well as make a swiveling function for his back pack so it can turn 180 degree`s to allow his trident shoulder kibble to point downward, enabling the warthog turret to become a back mounted turret in bot mode :O
id rather do the Frigget than the Peli but both are great. big problem for me I lost one of the warthog wheels and Im not buying another warthog till they hit clearance prices (just went off the market past few months) I am going to turn my room upside down till im sure i threw it out with garbage by mistake. but if anyone has a parts RC warthog PLLLLZZZ lemme know, or worst case I will shell out another 25 just for Ironsight here. but i wouldnt mind new windows anyway cuz his are getting dirty and un-finished... I only have to finish like 3 more tasks on Ironsight then paint but loosing the wheel is hella discouraging and I have other projects i wanna proceed with (I have enough works but no camera)
