My Bonneville as a Decepticon. Updated 12-23-09

So I'm not sure if this should go in the customs gallery or not, since technically my car isn't ever going to transform (as much as I want it to) however it is undergoing a series of transformations. If this needs a forum change, please let me know.

As much as you may all hold it against me, I plan on doing a '98 bonneville up as Chief Communications Officer Soundwave. With over a thousand amps of power channeled in to a twelve-speaker system (soon to be a 14 speaker system when I get the tweeds in after Christmas) and an evil system of bass-shakers under the seats (with a military-style missile switch for the activation of the girl-stimulating godsends) I am currently at a loss of what else to call the monstrosity. For now, it is known as project Soundwave, and if I come up with a more fitting name upon completion then hoorah!

I'm starting small, since it is winter in Missouri and the amount of fiberglass mods I can work on are limited. For now, I will be changing that boring Pontiac Symbol in to the glorious logo of the Decepticons. Fixit Sculpt works nicely here. So far, attached are two days worth of work. I may be making several of these emblems (due to the fact that I am nearly certain the first one wont turn out quite right) so I started with a Mold of the original and am working from there. Enjoy!

PS. I realize there aren't 14 speakers in the pic attached. It's an older pic of when I began the install and it's all I had for now. It's dark and sleeting outside and I don't really feel like getting the car out for pics.

Future MODs include a voicebox for some of Soundwave's famous quotes, new fiberglass front grill, and a fun new paint job next spring. But for now, starting small.

(Update 12-08-09): To keep all of my progress pics from flooding the front page, all additional progress shots will be posted throughout the thread as I get them done. (I lied. Choicest bits will be posted on the front page, with more of the detail shots throughout the thread)

(Update 12-23-09) Looks like I'm going to have it all done in time for Christmas! Best Christmas present I've ever...er, made...for myself...anywho, the sculpt is done! Check the progress pics by clicking through the thread!

I want to do something similar to my future car. Can't wait to see this finished!

Thats kind of funny...I have a red Alero coupe, and as soon as I bought it, I put a little red Autobot sticker on the dash underneath the radio...then it started doing wierd stuff...all kinds of bizarre little problems kept popping up...so I was talking with my GF about the car, and she suggested that maybe it wasn't an Autobot afterall, but an evil Decepticon...I thought it was worth a try, so I switched faction symbols, and whaddya know...all the little bugs stopped happening...

Well, normally, I'm of the Autobot variety, but with the dastardly things this car is going to do to my passengers, I'm hoping the decepticon symbol is a proper choice. We'll see. If all else fails, I'll switch to autobot when I do the front grill.

NEAT!

I've slapped some Autobot logos on the windows my 25th Anniversary SS Camaro and then a Decepticon logo on my 87 Grand National. Though I think I'm going to pull that one off in favor of the Barricade police logo.

But going out and adding voice clips and stuff to your car.. That's awesome!
If for some reason your in my area and you get behind an 87 Decepticon Grand National, hopefully your horn will be voice chipped to tell me my car is inferior or something..

Have fun. If I may offer a suggestion: Get some meatier tires...those sidewalls are way too low-profile.

Well.. If the OP likes the low-profiles that's his choice..

Of course I agree with you. I like my american cars with their meatier tires.. Especially muscle cars.. My old RX-7 looked good with tires with a similar profile to OP's.

But if the original poster is going for a soundwave.. Well.. Soundwave's tires are pretty low profile..

Oh...my...god. I was thinking interior sounds, but that would be completely epic....well, add that to the list of things to do next summer.

Yeah, the Rims came from my sister's shed. She had them on an old civic, but I couldn't beat the super-cheap family discount. Although I would much prefer 22" rims, I do have every intention of getting larger tires on the 19"s that are on it currently. I lost about 3 inches of total weel-width when I switched to these, and I agree that it doesn't look good with that low of profile tires on it. However, holiday season is here and I dont really have the 250$ or so to get them all replaced. This car is SUCH a work in progress....
