ROTF G1 Optimus Prime (with Starburst Metallics)

OOpsie. I've uploaded the maximum of 20 pics. The rest will come from my photobucket. Heheh.

In any case, it's been very long since I took a break from ebay to finish up commissions and settle down in my work and etc. I had been practicing with new techniques and perfecting existing ones. Officially introducing Starburst Metallics.

This breakthrough technique allows me to achieve a higher colour saturation as compared to conventional techniques. Trust me when I say that the custom looks way better in real life than what the pictures can say. Deeper and more virbant hues regardless of the colour that I am using.

For this version of G1 Prime, I literally dropped his whole silver stripe concept and decided on giving him an updated look. I wanted Prime to look more majestic thus the gold chrome on the front of his truck. He was airbrushed, detailed, shaded, dry brushed, chromed and protected by a special anti UV component. Well, enough said, hope you enjoy the pictures!

I think you've captured that imposing aspect of Prime that you're going for. That starbust metallic paint creates that dazzling effect on the colors and shape of ROTF Otimus Prime. Great work...

Thanks. It's been a real challenge but staring at the piece right on my work area, the satisfaction is priceless.

Lolz. Hehe. But it's not the paint. It's the technique. And that's kinda 'my dirty little secret' ;)

LOL this is pretty sweet. The gold front is a little strange, especially with the rest of the cab silver, but I got your reasons! This is really nice, I love seeing you put out these Starburst metallics, gives me a glimpse of future projects to come. ;)

Keep it up, girl!! Good to see you put something up, I know you've been really busy! :thumb

Ahah. The pics for the shaded gold chrome didn't look very convincing but it looks more naturally blended in person. You're winning it right? :p

Woah. This was crazy, Just the baking along took me an accumulated 7 hours plus inclusive of some trial and error and mistakes made. I'm glad you like it. Optimus is my favourite too! :)

i think I may know the technique for yourstarburst metallics, but dont worry, if it is what I think it is, I wont spill the beans. I've seen it used on automotive paint applications as well, I think. Or atleast something similar to it. Very nice work ma'am, very nice work indeed. Good luck on the auction, I've a feeling that its going to do very very well.

The paintjob does look even better than your past work. Not digging the gold chrome and the use of those jewelry add-ons, but it's still one awesome piece. :thumb
