Thought I'd share these with you guys. Something I've wanted to do for a while, touching into them in between commissions last few days. (I find if I stick to the same project(s) for countless hours in a row, I burn out quick those days)

I wanted to go a new route with these than the versions we've seen before. I'm trying to retain as original to G1 alt modes as I can.

Anyway, here's bombshell and shrapnel.

That's just sexy! Nice legs. Of course you're gonna have to come in here and blow all the other renditions away >=P

 

I'm actually looking at all the other renditions and trying to keep away from anything I've seen before. As you can see, a lot of the parts are scratch built and/or bare minimum from other figures. I used a seeker's upper telescoping legs for shrapnel, worked really really well.

 

yeah these are gonna be hot. what are you using for the articulated hands?
only doing two of the three insectobots?

Not sure I'm diggin the arms on Shrapnel but these are pretty sweet so far. Kind of seem more like Masterpiece with the articulated hands. Great start!

Damn those are looking good! I can't wait to see what you're doing to Kickback & I like the fact you kept the chrome parts on Shrapnel & Bombshell too. Nothing beats chrome! I've been checking out some of the stuff you've made after your Soundwave and you're pretty much a God at what you do!  

 

Thanks, the hands are from Gundams as well as the cast hands from Ptitvite. (tough to assemble keeping strength) I am out of gundam hands   need to stock back up.

yeah, debated (and still debating) leaving the chrome. I think I will. I like how it lends a G1'esque feel to them. Kickback pics on the way in a few minutes. thanks for the compliment too.

Oh boy I can't wait to see these!!
I've been thinking of making a Bombshell (first TF I remember getting as a kid!) using the deluxe insecticon Barrage and seeker bits as well (I think that the seeker arms can fit inside Barrage with a little tinkering...) but I've got so many other things on the go that it'll be awhile til I get on that one...
Hope you update soon! The G1 insecticons were always my favourite!

Oh, and I've used those Wave Option hands as well- very very cool, if a little bit fiddly to put together at first. Great articulation, though! And yeah, I think they're 1/100 scale- I use them on deluxe sized TFs.
