Does anybody even really pay attention to or care about the ratings system? I mean, really?

I didn't even mean that dismissively. Who bothers to look at the rating before clicking a thread?

Well, when I GIVE a rating I hope that its appreciated, y'know? Sometimes, do you wonder if a one star rating is actually a bad rating? I mean really, there's a ton of stuff without ANY stars!

I might actually look at/give more ratings if we could see who posted what :D

is it me or does it really feel like the amount of ppl who visit radicons/customs section has greatly increased?

if anything, you can keep the new set up.. BUT!
    - take off the ratings (my heart broke wen i just put up a 2 month project for someone to give it a 2 star rating =*(
    - PUT A RADICON'S ICON AT THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE!!!@#%!@%!@#$!!@$
-there should be no reason why we have to scroll all the way down and click and SEARCH for this page at all

i honestly feel as of the pass couple of weeks that the amount of people has decreased INCREDIBLY that come to the radicons/custom section since this new set up and that is a shame..

Maybe rather than omit the rating system, all ratings are paired with the name of the person who rated. I can understand that possibly, some people aren't inclined enough to write a comment, and only rate the custom at hand.

I don't think vBulletin has this feature, but it would help people understand why their customs are rated high or low.
It's a shame that other boards have rating systems in place, but for some reason, only on TFW is it abused and such a problem.

I saw a guy post his "first custom" this morning, and it was greeted with 1 star. This is a major problem/issue, I wouldn't be surprised if that guy saw that, and said "damn, I am never posting there again"

I haven't been to the radicons sections since it has been changed.

I liked the fact that I could check out the radicons, in a single click.

Radicons was pretty much the only reason I came here.

Please bring it back as a "topic" on the front page as it was in october and before.

I don't mind the rating system, but I'm not going to miss it if it gets axed. If I see a thread with a low rating, I'll bump it up to 5 stars so people don't get discouraged. I think people read too much into it. The 1-star ratings most likely come from someone that's jealous of the artist's skills and the attention their work is getting. It's either one person or a very small selection of members. These opinions don't reflect on all of TFW or Radicons for that matter and can be filtered out as petty and useless.

But see, that's the problem/complaint with the rating system. Some people vote 1 star because they think the idea is stupid or they dislike the person, but others will give it 5 stars because they like the person, and not necessarily the custom, or in your case, to "pad the rating" so people don't get discouraged.

What people want is accountability to the rating system if it stays - so the trolls, the "I HATE Satomiblood, I'm totally rating this 1 star, douche!" are weeded out from voting because it's not so anonymous. Problem is whether or not VBulletin offers such a thing.

If *ANYTHING*, there may be a way to change the code so if you rate the thread, it pops up in your post (if you post) ... but the amount of work to do that would be offset by simply turning off a rating system altogether.

or, we can just let the replies / comments in the thread do the rating itself. I think you nailed the main problem on the head "Some people vote 1 star because they think the idea is stupid or they dislike the person, but others will give it 5 stars because they like the person, and not necessarily the custom, or in your case, to "pad the rating" so people don't get discouraged."

So I guess I should stop padding low thread ratings then?

I personally don't even use the rating system. But, if it will stop me from having to hear people complain about it (no offense to anyone). Then get rid of the F&^%$ING thing.
