One of the coolest things about taking in commissions (other than the whole "Are you done yet?" thing ) is that it gets you to see things from another person's perspective. For example, I would have NEVER thought of Smokescreen as a Mustang, until one of the fellow board members here requested him...how awesome!!!! I used a Rustoleum Metallic Blue with him, and I love the sparkles!!! (Ummm...sparkles.....) I hope that he enjoys him. BTW, this is KO Alternator Grimlock as the base, which can be a bear to paint and sand, but nevertheless, he came through okay. Comm and Crits welcome, as SOP.
Oooohhh sparkly! Very nice! Never considered Smokescreen to be a Mustang but it does wonders! Personal irk, the yellow on the arms...how interesting. That's just me. And where's the good ol' 38? Great job as usual, Earl, hope the recipient is extremely happy! I know I would be!
We must be on the same frequency, man! I was working on my Alt Slicer (blue Mustang) last night right before I went to work! You did a really nice job with this guy! Your love for this mold really sparkles! I love everything you've done!
Great work, man. Nice to see you branching out into other lines for your customs. The sparkly metallic blue looks nice, but the plain-colored red stripe kinda looks off. It would be nice if the red matched the blue more (i.e., if it was sparkly too)
Holy Crap!!! That looks amazing! Much better than I imagined. I really appreciate you doing this for me on such a tight budget. I tried to keep my "are we there yet" pm's to a weekly thing so as not to be annoying. *shrug* Still, I'll forever be in your debt for this one.
I think some of that may be the photos as well. I can see some of the sparkle from the blue showing through the stripe, even though the stripe is flatter than the sparkle. I like that the stripe is flatter because it may would have a tendency to overpower if it weren't. It's a tough call, I think.
I concur with all the thoughts on the racing stripe, but other than that, it's awesome. I hated the big-feet-subaru-mold for Smokescreen. And you made his windscreens actual smokescreens! Kickass
Makes me want to disco. Really, I think the best part of your customs is when you work on the Alternators line.
That was my thought actually. I do have a can of the Metallic Red that Tamiya makes, but I thought the Red Pepper Krylon would have been a better match, Oh well, I knoww better next time Thanks...Yeah, I don''t do enough of them, huh?
