ROTF Optimus Prime

Who needs "Buster Optimus Prime" when your a Radicon!

Finally, my final version of my own ROTF Optimus Prime!! this is offically my second ever transformer custom.. i did one maybe 2 years ago on a OP voyager class. However used to do alot of customizing on Marvel legend figures, so customizing isnt new to me.. but now i have a new love!

Hopefully like many of you.. i had downloaded ROTF since i watched it in theaters.. so i've been watching daily trying to get my prime similar to the movie..

First off.. the ~SHOUT OUTS.~

Mampy - followed you here from figurerealm... you sent me a link to this site on your tutorial of ur OP gun.. so after that, i was opened up to this page and i thank you for that.

Frenzy_Rumble - love ur customs dude, ur work made me wanna do more ROTF figures..

Zildjian - your work is awesome too and thank you and F_R on the rubber tires help

AND EVERYONE ELSE - you guys been very welcoming on this site and appreciate that! this is definately a new home for me to show off my stuff and see other Radicons great work! I've learned alot of new techniques and ideas from this site and I thank you all!

Now where we go...

This is my ROTF OP! repainted as much as i could.. I spent about 3-4 weeks on this dude, and it really paid off.. i actually had another one i did before this but after looking on this site i had to do another one cuz i didnt think it was up to par.. i tried to get all the little detail.. even up to the blue lights on the front and "tanks?" on prime..

- swords took out the swords and did a Mampy style sword.. (great tutorial)..
- Rubber tires and rims from 07's OP.. thanks to F_R and Zild
- Guns from 07's prime w/ some mods on it and the other one from, wat i believe is a gundam gun with mods on it..
- Smoke Stacks - I sliced them off and made mine shorter and fatter.. i noticed in the movie OP had short stacks on his shoulders.. and i kinda liked the look..
- HANDS - I was going to go w/ the 07's hands for both, but last minute i found a perfect handle for my "gundam" gun that fight in the ROTF primes hands.. so i just changed the right hand.. so if u notice the two different hands.. dont think i forgot =P
-NOTE- i actually painted everything like the grill, smoke stacks, sun blades,rims... Flat aluminum.. so it is kinda shiny but mostly flat, but in the pictures, they look rather dull looking and flat has hell.. .. iunno i need a SLR or something.. but i did repaint them.

other than that.. sealed it up and thats all

OK, so here is a million pictures and ..

..THANKSSS foR LookINg!

LOL this is what I did for all my customs from the first movie.

I think you've done quite a good job capturing the look of the movie model. I love all the silver paint nicks all over the place. I also like how you did the guns. Not digging the shorter smokestacks, though. It does make the bot mode more movie-accurate but I think it sacrifices the alt mode too much to achieve that effect.

Great job overall for someone doing only his 2nd TF custom.

Nice, you pulled it off very effectively. Better than mine, a hundred times over.

Very well-executed. The battle damage is eye-catching without being overpowering.

My only criticism would be that the front tires are WAY too wide, giving it an off-road appearance that is kind of distracting.

I really hate those tires in bot mode, they are too thick and make the figure look too big and chubby. It works in the alt mode but only on the back end.

Nice job, but I agree with the others about the wheels n rims. As much as I like rubber tires, the stock ones are more for fitting, but that's just my opinion. Over all A- from me. Oh an welcome to the boards.

haha no love for the rubber tires?! lol its all good i appreciate the comments and the ur opinions. i too KINNNNDAAAA.. and thats a little kindaaaa thought it was too big after i finished however, i like it.. wen it sits on my shelf its a nice feeling thats it rubber and not plastic.. also after seeing it be done in this site, it was more of a challenge for me to accomplish this kind of feature because thats how i just am.... if i see something unique and interesting i wanna capture it too.. the way i feel is hey.. if someone else can do it. its possible too then right?

thanks guys!

looks awesome. As long as you like the tires, they are a win. You have no idea how many commissions for Prime I've gotten where I try to persuade the buyer into NOT getting the tire swap. No one ever bites, they all seem to love the tire swap.
