Love it !!! The good ol' Ironhide in his meanest alt mode and kick a$$ weapons ! Megatron will think twice if He where to engage Ironhide to a fight in that form even in the 1986 movies
Man, I don't think Ironhide has looked any better. I always thought a Hummer alt mode for ole Ironhide would be perfect and you proved it. I really love the paintjob (perfect colors and nice dry bushing), sweet decals and, as always, a sweet bio story to go with him. Those detail really make him stand out as more than just some regular repaint. There's only a couple bad things I can say about him. Like everyone else said, the arms do seem a little thin and long but that doesn't really stand out when he is holding his weapons. I never would have thought to use Gundam arms as well as hands to fix Ratchet's arms considering how plain and blocky most of them are, but I think you found a the perfect pair with just the right amount of detail to fit in better with the rest of his movie aesthetic bot mode. I think I would have tried to use bigger hands like MP ones or something to fit better to scale though. The other thing that bothers me is why you choose to pair him with the Navy. I don't really see the logic there because it would make more sense for him to be paired with the Army or even the Marines over the Navy, but I'll buy it because I've always liked that single star and stripes symbol you placed over the cab. (I think that is only a Navy logo, right?) I think the Skids head works really well on him too, although, I would have want him to have a sleeker head with less side stuff but I just like slimmer, plainer heads with smaller "helmets." I think he would fit really well as a TF/GI joe crossover Ironhide. I've never really been into GI Joe, but i really like the TF/Joe crossover idea and love to see some of the crossover customs people make. I have a question though. I can't really tell from the pic but do his weapons fit on his alt mode or is he just a partsformer with those?
if that ironhide was for sale i'd buy(right the wife wouldn't let me ha ha!) it excellent work as always this iron should be in the next tf movie
dude thats epic its flippin amazing I love it and yes it does give me a team america world police feeling
wow so those are gundam arms eh? thats very interesting. im definitely going to copy you. sorry lol. dang i have mad gundams in my other apt.. imma have to swing by tom. and pick them up.. as it annoying or easy to switch the arms?
If this is the awesomeness that comes through begging, please continue This is yet another stellar work from a even more stellar Radicon
Thanks, everyone. Yes, this guy is a Parts-former as far as the weapons, but honestly, this is one of those customs that i think will stay in Bot mode most of the time. I'm former servuce myself (US Army 92Y) so i wanted to doo something to sho my miliraty love, and of course I LOOOVVVEEE me some Ironhide. The arms a lanky, but I wanted some real articulation, so I felt it was worth the sacrifce, especially with is canons monuted on. Again, thanks everyone!
lol hey man just to let u kno im making alittle something of my own using ur idea.. his back story.. not sure yet but i already got my ball joint head and i got new gundam arms... i actually just sawed off the hinge that was part of the ratchet arm and then screwed it/superglued it to the gundam arm.. very sturdy.. i prob repeated like 6 coats of superglue to reinforce it haha.
Yes and no. Force Recon is a specific type of recon work that specializes in dangerous data gathering info. They go in knowing full well that all hell can break loose, but unlike trypical recon missions, they have the training and arms to handle it. It is a specialty of the Marine corp, but the Marines fall under the Navy banner (An old jarhead buddy of mine in the service told me that MARINE stands for :My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment, Sir! :LOL) but US Navy Seals also specialize in Force Recon missions.
