It was way too long, and threw off the awesome look that this piece had going.
BUT, now that I have seen it a few more times from different angles, I really like it. Its rare to see Transformers in different body types. Most of the Transformers we get nowadays are fit and in shape, but who is to say that there couldn't be a really skinny combiner?

However... that said, I still have to say the torso looks too long to me. Is there not a way to combine those two so the body isn't stretched out quite so much?
