It's still difficult to get this clear coat to even out without using an airbrush, but that aside, I'd like some opinions on this colour.

i recommend testors modelmaster silver laquer as the first layer then use whatever transparent yellow or something on top. i use silver lacquer and even with a brush it dries smooth.

Go to the first post to see these. I'm liking how these colours turned out! Excuse my enthousiasm.

Can ou try some better lighting it might help us better see what your seeing.

Try taking a few outside in the Sun, maybe that will bring out your paint job better.

It is looking a tad better than you had it originally,
If you could I'd invest in another HABB and start from scratch because after repainting it yet again the paint seems to be kinda thick in some areas. and all the paint strokes are clearly visiable. Use your current BB as more of a Template for the next one.

One more thing, You could also try Primer it up first before actually painting it. I'm betting you could easily duplicated those stripes.

    Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not gonna take my toys outside to take pictures of 'em, I don't have a yard or anything. the pics ARE natural lighting and I thought they look pretty cool in that lighting. It's so dramatic :x

Given, in the pictures the paint looks thick, but like many things, it looks better in life. The brushstrokes are regrettable, painting clear paints is difficult, I wish I had an airbrush.

By stripes you mean the racing stripes? If so, they're different, but not bad, but that's my opinion..I gave up brushstroke-free-but-dulled-gold for brush-strokes-but-perfect(imo)-colours.

The colors definitely look better than what you started out with, but yeah you'll need an airbrush to get the clear yellow to go smoothly on large surfaces like the entire car body. :)

I think you're doing very well with a lot of things here. You're really taking criticism very well, not only in the thread, but also with applying the feedback to your work. Also, it's obvious that you're really on to something with your work here. You've taken a toy that you care about and simply trying to improve upon it. I think we can all relate to that here :)

Others have discussed the gold paint, so I don't feel I can add much. The main thing is that movie Bumblebee has a clearcoat yellow that's specific to that particular Camaro. Trying to add a clearcoat touch to it can be even more difficult.

I wish you well with your ventures, and I hope everything will continue to be well :)

Thanks, but I'm really not THAT good at taking critisism. Like, Cheetor71's reply, I edited my reply a LOT. I believe in constructive critisism, so as long as someone doesn't just take you down, sure you can get annoyed by the fact someone doesn't like your work as much as you do, but after a while or so, you'll start to agree. That's what I did.

I guess mimicing the camaro colour takes an expert, regrettably, I'm not. I'm just glad the yellow evened out a LOT better than I had expected. Just wait 'till I get an airbrush, I'll develop mad skillz!
