Hey gang, It sure feels good to be able to complete a custom, regardless of its complexity! A lot of you are aware of some of the circumstances I've dealt with over the last year and a half. Between time and finances and my duties to Radicons, I don't get very much left over for myself!

Having said that, I've finished one of my few remaining commissions that began last year. (isn't THAT cringe-worthy?) This piece here was part of a trade, basically. I was hooked up with an Animated Activators Dirge in exchange for my painting the LOC Sunstorm figure that was shipped along with the Activator. I dyed the hands and feet and thighs and flip-out weapons black so there'll never be any issues of wear on this bugger. The blue is Krylon Fusion Patriot Blue. I've never had much luck getting this blue to show up properly in photographs (I used it years ago for my Alpha Trion) but this time around I've gotten much closer than all my past attempts! It's still not quite as dark as the real thing, but these are actually pretty close.

The silver is Testors Chrome, and the red is Testors Gloss Red. The canopy is Testors Metal Flake Gold. I masked off the tiny Decepticon symbol, so no stickers. I even painted the eyes. I tried to come up with a unique scheme for the wing deco, one that would be his own, homage his G1 scheme, and yet also still flow well on this mold. I think I've succeeded, but you tell me!

Now, on to the pictures. Next all I have left to do is clear-coating and I can finally finish those Alternators as well. Sure will be nice to get these 2008 projects done :S

Oh yeah - I clear-coated him with Testors Semi-gloss spray. Also, I didn't mask anything for the hand-aps, just the 'con symbol.

Quite nice! But lemme see if I got this straight... Ramjet likes toast... and Thundercracker likes doing handstands? All you're missing in that shot is a mini keg and you got yerself one heck of a seeker frat party!

I can't imagine how good you felt once you completed this guy.   I will know to some extent how it will feel for you to have your Motormaster complete  

The supreme Starscream must be an easy mold to work with at that size . . . oh wait! This is a LoC figure!  

I don't like Seekers, so I can't say too much about this custom.  

I really like how nice the face looks. Honestly, this is one reason I don't have any LoCs because I'd want a full set   Great work, buddy

I listed out exactly what brands and colors I used in the opening post.  

It was a really large sigh of relief after the initial woot.   I gotta get some of that decal joiner this week so I can start final bits on those alts now!

Actually, I got him done pretty fast, I was pretty surprised to see I still had it considering how long my un-wanted hiatus has been!

  If it makes you feel any better, that IS on the list of things to do, but I want to get 10 other projects done first.

 

well, there's a few WIPs in my Featured Radicons article.   I've also mentioned base-formers and combiners a few times, too.
