Ironhide hoped that his old friend Perceptor or Prowl would make it to Earth to become his new logistics officer. In order to counter the large number of Decepticons that were running errant after the defeat of the Fallen and the retreat of Megatron, NEST had assigned Ironhide his own platoon. And while Optimus kept Ratchet, Ironhide got.....Hoist.

He's not a bad Autobot, just a mouthy one. He has an opinion on everything, even things he knows nothing about. And if there is anything Ironhide can't stand, it unnecessary conversation.

However, he can give you a building's weak point at a glance, let you know what type of foundation your standing on and can tow/lift several times his own size. His hand mounted cannon can fire heated plasma bursts to liquid nitrogen, whatever ever is needed.

It's a heck of a trade, though. Intelligence is gained....but the peace and quiet is shot.

I've done a few repaints of Hoist in the TFTM Longarm mold, but when I saw Hasbro was doing one from the same mold (yes, we Radicons influence Hasbro...we rock that hard :thumb ) I wanted to upgrade him a lil.

The head is from TFTM Incinerator, the fins are from the sword assembly from a Gundam Seed: Astray Blue Frame, the hand from a Gundam Seed: Destiny Legend Gundam (Rey Za Burrel: Worst Gundam Pilot ever) and the crane attachment is from an Energon Landmne fig (same one I painted the RTFK Kup from).

Wow this robot mode looks excellent, bro. Heck both modes do. The only thing I wish you'd done differently would've been to take the toneau cover and made that into his flaps on his shoulders without parts-forming. Pretty minor if you ask me!

I'm so happy to see someone do this custom - I've been wanting to see a movie Hoist from Ironhide since that toy was first released! How about doing a Trailbreaker out of movie Ratchet to complete the set :D

It works surprisingly well as a tow truck. The head works very well with the proportions of the Ironhide mold, too. Great work overall, ax23. :thumb

You never fail to impress! That mold works great. As someone else mentioned- You should make Trailbreaker. I was actually toying (no pun intended) around with that idea myself, except my idea involved finding a truck cap that fits on ironhide and going in that direction.

Its the basic 1/100 Gundam hand, I did keep the ball joint from the Ironhide hand and epoxied it on though, its a good clean fit. :thumb

Man, that would have been sick! I got to get back to running ideas back by you.

:lol  I've been wantig to do this for a while, but as I am getting caught up on commissions, I actually had the time for this one. I already had the decals as well, so i didin't have to make any new ones.

Look whos talking, master of Obliticons!

Thanks! Just 2 magnets on this one, too. Everything else (the fins) just slide and stay in place from the pressure. I made sure to sand down the surface for no paint chipping from the rub and let them cure for several days, so it's a good fit. Ypu just like it cause its off-road! Ha!!! :lol

I made this one last year, actually. It's also a TFTM Incinerator head. It's amazing how versatile that head is, as I think it would make a great Grapple head as well. (Hint, Hint!!!)

You can see more of Trailbreaker in the Radicons Customs Gallery. :thumb

    Thanks, bro. :thumb

This is one of the best customs from you, man :thumb  The cool thing I can always say about your work is this because you really set the bar for yourself to continually make your recent your best. :)

I have to say that I'm torn here. A part of me really enjoys the same thing pk is talking about, and I'd actually like to see some mechanical detail in alt mode for the parts still showing (like a stepside or something). Another part really would like to see what RL is talking about as well. The really cool thing about this piece is what pk is talking about. I like how everything stores in alt mode. I'm not a fan of magnets on TFs (simply because 99% of TFs don't use them), but it doesn't bother me too bad.

Like RL said, by this point we're really nitpicking. I think that also says a lot about the level of your work. Well done again, bud :thumb

    WOW!!
amazing! Using Ironhide, very different, i though you'd use Longarm....but
was i wrong! nice use of Incinerator's head:thumb  gives it a very nice Hoist vide to it!:rock
i seriously need to finish mine up....gezz lol
Where do the "wings" connect to in vehical mode?
and the crane is dose it use a magnet to connect to the arm and truck bed?
Great work! as always!:thumb  Whats next?:p
