WIP Thread: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/249395-gobot-takeover-waterwalk-wip.html Original toy: http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Renegades/Waterwalk/waterwalk.htm And here he is...
Haha! That's greater than great! I love these and you have single handedly re-kindled my interest in the "K-Mart" Transformers!
are those off of Von Ransack? Very nice fit. Honestly, the only nitpicks I have at all are that A) the chest still looks like a seeker's chest, and B) the helmet is a little bit too rounded I think.
I like it. If you're not happy with the color the legs then paint it. To me they look okay. Awesome job though.
I own one how could I not? Proper seeker or not, he's a friggin' warplane! I'm curious to see how the work in plane mode with the model plane he turns into, Just a smidge worried that they won't be wide enough (front to back).
Ever wonder about the complexity of the Go-bot's theme song( I'll bet you the people who wrote that theme probably had their hand in the intro for Batman with Adam West. You think these people just sit around and say "I can turn any one word into a theme song." Looking good so far Satomiblood...love your gobot work as always. Can I see his plane mode pretty please?
i am thoroughly impresessed with this piece. it turned out very very well and you should be so veryproud of it.
I used an Energon Barricade head, cut the ear muffs off and stuck the head inside a random robot crotch, and added putty. More pics, including the plane mode, will be up soon. I'm not concerned at all with the wing length. They're actually the same size as the ones I had planned on using previously.
I say chrome the legs. Just a little bit of sanding will prevent your rubbing issues. Aside from that, I like all of the choices you've made. I think his head has a lot of personality, and that you've changed things enough to veer away from the kitbashed look of other figures. I have to say that I've really enjoyed watching you create this guy and the other customs you've been working on. Particularly with these GoBots, I feel you've taken a really cool thing (GoBots), ran with it, and made it cooler than could be on its own. I hope that you get that I love my GoBots quite well, too. Now all we need to see is this guy wrapped up and a gallery of him
Thanks for the kind words. I really like the idea of re-imagining these characters. It'd be nice if Hasbro would release more Gobot homages, but I'm not going to wait up for them.
I probably said this on the original thread, but I have some unexplainable love for this Gobots character since I own a knockoff of him. Thus, I must say this is the best Gobots homage figure I've seen so far. I hope to see more of your work. Perhaps, one day: Tux?
Thanks. Yes... Perhaps, one day: Tux, Slicks, Cop-Tur, Puzzler, Super Spay-C, Monstrous, Pincher, Geeper Creeper, Turbo, Scooter, Leader-1, the Command Center.....
