Personally if there was to be a transformer from a steam locomotive I'd choose to have it be from a LMS 2-6-2 Duchesses. They just looks so majestic and were the most powerful passenger locomotive built in the British Isles. (LMS Coronation Class - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia If British steam showed the world anything it was that it was possible to be powerful and aesthetically pleasing at the same time.)

I've given some thought to locomotive names for transformers depending on alliegence

Derail
Headshunt
Buffer Up
Freight line
Hauler
Wheel Spin
Boil Over
Fast Track

You can use one if you like but for an engine like a big boy I think Wheel Spin or Hauler might work well.
Fight Retard Robot Life updated 04th July update coming shortly, camera found and images edited as I type.

Ah yes, tis an absolute beauty. My grandad was very much a train fantatic and took particular pride in having all the Duchesses on his model railway!

To be fair, there are plenty of beautiful locomotives out there that would serve this build well, however for me the appeal of the 'Big Boy' is in its immense size. Maybe its a sign of my mental age, but for me there's nothing cooler than transforming into the biggest train of them all! And I've estimated his height at about 110ft, so he'd definately be the biggest Autobot too - considering that Optimus stands at 28 feet lol!

Nice job. I particularly like the wheels/piston arrangement on the thighs, aswell as the chest. As you can see, this train has a lot of wheels, so the more places to put them the better!

Thanks dude. Definately helps!

For everyone else, this is my third concept kitbash in the movie-verse line - this time an as yet officially named Seeker.

Just as in ROTF, the idea is that this guy has been living among us for many years. Whereas Jetfire stowed away as an SR-71, this chap decided to hide as arguably one of the greatest and largest locomotives in history, a 548 tonne Union Pacific 'Big Boy'.

I'm not 100% on his name yet, however I'm mulling between Ultra Magnus (Latin for 'beyond big', quite apt in this case) or Omega Supreme (haven't looked that up yet...).

So, there we go. Progress will be updated regularly as usual. Any ideas/suggestions lemme know!

Happy bashing!

The head is from a bionicle called Tahu Mistika.

Base of your other projects, this one is going to ROCK!!

Yep, thats a Bionicle head!

I use Bionicle a lot on my customs. Mainly because they're affordable, but most importantly because they make for amazing poses! It just seems to fit very well with the movie aesthetic, in my opinion.

Mixing various kits together you get some interesting results, and the plastic is really good quality.
