His chest lights illuminate the plastic around them which makes them look very bright in the pics. I might dim them slightly, but they're not as bad as they look here. Hakka.
Yes, he's plugged directly into a 2xAA battery pack for the pics. I have my shelf wired up with sockets so I can plug multiple figures into the one battery pack. When the are on the shelf the wires are obscured. Hakka.
Very cool. I take it then, with your previous comment, that you keep them in robot mode? I love the look of LEDs though I personally don't think I have the engineering know how.
Yep, they just sit on the shelf in bot mode. The LEDs aren't really that hard, have a look at this tutorial for Ratchet, he was one of the harder ones. Something like bumblebee or sideswipe is really easy to do. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-general-discussion/257815-led-photo-tutorial.html Hakka.
Very nice, an idea for the light bleed-through around the fenders: paint the inside of the fenders and bumper black, and you won't need to dim them.
Great work lighting all of these up, man. I do think that you need to dim the lights a little especially on Bumblebee. Aside from lighting up the surrounding plastic I think that the LEDs are just too strong for the scale of the figure. But yeah, awesome sig
Maybe you can try and paint the inside of the chest with silver or black to keep the light from shining thru the yellow plastic. I've seen this done to Perfect Grade Gundams. You can also wrap a silver foil or maybe a sticker around the LED and just expose the tip. Anyway, great work on the LEDs.
