Im not familiar with rapidfires mod, Searching now for it.

I will have some vehicle photos up i the next hour or two. It wont have the decals on it. I experimented with marker pen for the black stripingeffect but it looked rubbish. i ended up taking a little paint off removing it.. DAMN... i need to touch up one of the doors now. I am waiting for a decal print sheet to arrive in the mail then i should have move accurate side details and Skids numberplate. i am going to try and fit little autobot logos in the centre of hte wheels too.

Necrocom4 : i am still trying to do your mod without damaging the paint work, i wish i had done it before i started painting.

Also to make the shins fit better i am having to grind out the inside of the doors so they dont rub.. Oh well lessons learnt for the next Figure.

    Cheers.

You should really paint the front window a bit larger so that the black hood and window don't have the green line in between and so it doesn't look like there's two lines between the window and side hinges.

    rapid_fire's mod:
    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/255871-my-modified-skids.html

its not half bad looking but all he did was remove the panels and jam the hinges they were on into skids chest. they could serve to be alittle lower imo.

Not really keen on that. I think the mudflap door hinges are the way to go maybe the mirror hinges.

the reason i picked a ball joint was so i had some room to move his chest panels where they looked more accurate. plus it was just easier to do that instead of figuring out where the panels would end up with just 2 hinges. if i had another mudflap i would definately use his door hinge/balljoint for the same setup. just so its solid. mine transforms back to car mode fine but hell knows how many times the panels would pop off trying to get it back in vehicle mode.

No idea why that wasn't a mech-alive gimmick, where rotating the middle bumper down would cause the two outer bumpers to rotate diagonally on arms much like the ones Necrocom4 used...

Speaking of which, would the mech-alive from BB's 74 mold not work on this?
If not the actual system, one that replicated it's function?

They were masked and airbrushed. but the edges looked wierd, so i trimmed the edges with a brush hence the hand painted look. i now have a flexible masking trim that should work nicely.

I have made the decal sheet for Skids, it looks fantastic printed. It should look great on the figure. i need to get an acylic spray sealer before i can put them on. Hopefully i will have it done tommorrow.

    Cheers.
    Rob.

I see you did the back window properly. I don't know if you forgot but this is what i meant by the front window not being fully painted:
