Universe Octane

So!! I went to the store. I wanted to pick up ROTF Chromia (Was gonna make a pink transformer and give it to my girlfriend, who recently got into Transformers, mainly the movies)

However, it was sold out! Can you believe it!? Anyway, instead I found Universe Sunstreaker and Universe Tankor on sale!!! Together cost one buck more than one Chromia.

I GOT them! And I'm overexcited...about Sunstreaker...

My Idea: Repaint them in G1 accuracy. For Sunstreaker, there's actually some stuff that could be done. Tankor...IS already as G1 as he can be, however the colours work REALLY BAD in his alternate modes.

Well then, screw Tankor!

Presenting: Universe OCTANE. All cool, dark and cool. My main goal was to make the alternate modes look good.

Crap, I noticed a lot of paint rubbing of the truck-cab. That's what happens when you handle non-cured paint with sweaty hands!

I hated the comb-blade-weapon, so I just attach it as a tower-schield

















Gonna get some new flat black for the base of Sunstreaker, but I hope I can find some transparant yellow and then use a silver as a base..Expect a topic for him soon too.

That's a nice repaint, but it seems more Motormaster than Octane. Either way, nice job

Yeah, i noticed they finally released Universe in holland too.
It's most likely not going to go further than wave 1 deluxe leftovers though :-( .
I still have no luck finding ROTF Wave 2 around here. Even Wave 1 is rare, it's primarily preview waves.
Nice work on Octane, can't wait for the other two modes.

@D-Unit: I knew it would have a Motormaster vibe, but to be really Motormaster, it 'd need it's trademark purple windows.

@Rhinox555: Yep. Wave 1 ROTF and a Universe character here and there. ROTF is getting sold out, and they're not restocking it seems. Maybe we should check Toys-XL? They usually have toys earlier than Intertoys or Bart Smit.
Only thing I see all over the place is stupid animated Ultra Magnus >_<

I check Toys-XL regularly. Still wave 0.
Top1Toys and V&D have some Universe wave 2 though.

The new paint works nicely for Octane, but a little thick maybe. Paint chipping was bound to happen with a tight transformation scheme like Tankor's.

Those colors look great.

Very cool. I love the color scheme much better than the original figure's. But yeah I agree with the other guy that said it looks a lot like Motormaster
