The metals were all Tamiya, the red was games workshop "Blood Red," and the blue is Testors Gloss Blue acrylic. The trick I use is ink washes over the base colors to darken or accent the solids. It gives all the colors more depth and realism. Nice thing is: inks are nice and cheap and readily available at any art store. They can also be used as a tint for any existing colors you have to expand you pallette.
