Now then! I've managed to finish off my Custom TF:A Jazz! Please enjoy the most recent pictures I managed to take! Also, please note that his Racing stripe is now a much darker shade of the original colors. Sorry about the 'Con symbol being so tiny, though. I kinda can't help that. Oh, it may look like the 'Con symbol is off, but it isn't. It's just a white spot I missed to paint black. Sorry about that... Alrighty! Finnally got this guy completed! Those repros took forever to get here. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to Burnout for all the help, and stuff. So, anyway, here he is! Finnally completed. Here's his Bio: Betrayed by his friends, and cast aside in death, His anger grew to where his very spark had been sustained by it. His hatred of the other Transformers did not go unoticed by the great evil one himself. Jazz was rebuilt by one of The Evil one's Minions. The medic re-programmed Jazz to obey the Evil one's every order... He even went as far as to give him a new, darker paint job that enhances his defenses, and helps him avoid detection. Oh, and he also slapped a Decepticon Symbol on Jazz for no reason. Now, the Transformers of Robticon's Home are in for "A major a** whooping, Ya digg!?"
Impresive! You did an EXCELENT job of preserving Jazz's stripes on the hood and all the paint details elsewhere. My only concern is that the white inbetween the symbols is still clearly visible, but for your first go 'round as a Radicon that's excuseable in the long run. Also, do the exhaust pipes still turn into twin nunchucks? If they do, then I don't know how you'll go about getting rid of the white string that connects them while prserving their nuchuck-ibility.
Don't worry, I WILL. Thanks! Though you can't see it in the pictures, there's a bit of spotting where a bit of paint got under the Masking tape... Oh, that white area doesn't matter much, because I'm going to repaint the stripes so that they cover the Elite Guard symbol, making room for the 'Con symbol I'm going to put on 'im. Thanks for the re-assurance, too! Yeah, they still become Nun-chuck (Actually, they call 'em 'Energon Chucks', but I find that name to be too cheesy...) The white string? Oh, I didn't think about that... It needs to be black, don't it? That's fine, my sis has some fabric dye that may work. I just hope she has black... -_-
ooooh pretty! You know what would be cool, if he had a face plate and a red bandana cloth thing around his head it would make him more ninja like!
seeing these two together reminds me of gi joe and storm shadow and snake eyes lol nice job, do you use brushes or airbrushing?
Sadly, the point of his repaint is for far more... evil purposes. A bit of both, as in, to paint the fig as a whole I Spray painted the individual parts, and touched it up, painting small details, like the rear view mirrors, and painting places the Spray paint couldn't (You know, without overpainting everything around the target.) and fixing paint scratches. Did I answer your question adequetly?
Aw, darn it.... Sorry! But, if I told everyone, it wouldn't have been a suprise! Now would it? Thanks a bunch! That was what I was going for. To an extent. He's not gonna where a Shattered glass 'Bot symbol, sadly, so he'll have to be a Decepticon. No problem.
For your first custom, you did a really good job. The only areas that I can make out that may need a little attention are where the stripes are. What you can do next time you wanna mask off some stripes is to make sure that your tape is sealed to the surface area....take a blunt object and burnish the edges of the tape to help prevent seepage....and as for that white spot in between the symbol and the stripe?....a fine tip paint marker or even a fine tip black sharpie will take care of that. Again, its a really good job overall.....looking forward to your next custom!!
Thanks! I didn't think about that when I masking him off, and... well, you saw what happened to his stripes. Oh, as for the white spot, I was planning on extending the three stripes over it to make room for the Decepticon symbol he'd going to sport. I thought it would be better to not waste the effort of trying to paint that white spot, since it'll be covered pretty soon. Thanks for the advice, there! It sure will help me on my next custom!
i have only two words, especially with the original and your repaint side-by-side like that: tohjo sakana. hahahah, seriously, though, man, it looks great
I googled Tohjo Sakana. Now, I'm scared of Feminine Cat-Formers. Thanks for that. Yeah, but, in all seriousness, thanks for the compliment.
