    *UPDATES ON PAGE 3*

I already had two of the energon limb arielbots (one of each) and I absolutely wanted them to take the place of those in the pack. This left me with Airrazor and Skydive replaced by the energon versions (Skyshadow always struck me as more like Slingshot in robot mode)

When deciding to make Gaihawk I decided I wanted him to look different from the autobot versions did so I removed the back of the plane, stuck the wings off that to the other wings, switched the arms (tried switching the hip pieces around but they need to be that way round to transform. I have also reshaped the head and sanded the nose so it isn't stubbed like it was when I got him.

he's currently drying after his second coat of paint, the pictures here are after the first coat prior to sanding.

as demonstrated, he can still transform into both limb positions but we all know that he'll only be used in one position,

I just need to decide if i want to see if I can turn the A-10 mould into something for hellbat (got an idea of how to do it) or if I want to get another superion set to make hellbat in a similar manner to Gaihawk so that he transforms into a decent arm mode.

you did pretty good with the paintjob matching with the original figures paintscheme wise

any plans on replaceing the other jet limbs head with terrorcon divebombs head?

    just my thoughts

i would suggest using energon barricade or his rotf reissue

so far as i can tell barricade happens to have the most stable solid and posable core body combiner form figure wise especially when it comes to the whole mid waist rotating joint something that the energon storm jet figure does not have at all

and besides the rotf repaint of energon barricade is already sporting a japanese g1 jarugar stlyle colorscheme so all it would really need is a energon storm jet head for jarugars new head

The paint was actually mixed for my turbomasters project which has sort of fallen to the wayside whilst I did this.

I like the idea of the Divebomb head, I'd need to find one first of course.

Unfortunately I'm planning on using Silverbolt for leozack (and clocker for Jarugar, figured how to have him attach to his back. Whilst Silverbolt is fairly unstable and by no means the best, it wouldn't be Liokaiser if Leozack wasn't the main component.

    could this work for leozack?

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/216819-classics-topspin-twintwist.html

with a small bit of dremil work some sculpey and suepr glue and a set of kneejoints/elbow joints salvaged from armada sideways headmaster rider it would be possible to give skyblast a bettert of knee joints for the legs

    http://www.tfu.info/2002/Mini-Con/Rook/combinedmode.jpg
i just salvage the entire upper legs and knees minus the white colored lower legs from the combiner minicon rider figure

this is just how i did it mod wise

assuming you have a omnicon skyblast figure or one of its movie verse repaints

set the figure up in robot mode, now take a close look at his upper legs

there is a metal pin/rivit which attaches the rotating jet thruster half of each upper leg to the upper hip joint half of each upper leg

what i did was that i went and very carefully broke the upper half of the leg away from the jet thruster lower half and then just used a good set of grips to yank that stuborn metal sucker ofa rivit right out

then using the dremil i went reshaped the legs i salvaged from armada sideways minicon rider unitl they were just smooth and round and wide enough to effectively fit theblack upper leg portion of each knew knee joint into the bottom thrustor half of each of skyblasts lower legs with the grey colored rotating balljointed top half of the salvaged minicon kneejoints being anchored into place inside of the upper half of skyblasts legs using the dremil to make the metal pin hole wide enough to slip the balljointed grey knee into place and then used some sculpey to fill in the remaining hollow space inside the upper half of each skyblast uppe leg

if done just right mod job wise the lower half of each skyblast leg will be able to slide down to reveal the kneejoint when the figure is transformed to robot mode and slide up to cover the knee joint as well when the figure is transformed back to vehicle mode

with some small bit of creative kitbashing i bet skyblast and barricade could even be modded in such a way that skyblast/leozack in vehicle mode could lock into place on barricades/bruticus maximus's back

now picture energon baricade in core body combiner mode with the entiree upper body torso turned all the way aroud to the back o that the missile truck control cab chest is on the combiners back in the combiner form with skyblast/leozack forming the entire chest/brestplate armor for the combiner form

and rotf bruticus maximus barricade/jarugar forming the actual core body for the combiner form of liokaiser

in the end though its your kitbash your project man

i just thought i would offer a helpful suggestion or 2 is all

looks good. I agree with autobotx23, you should customize the fansproject appendage to go with it.

I don't own a skyblast but that idea does sound interesting. I don't own the bruticus set at all but I do intend to get at least one (playing with the idea of not making Hellbat but including Deathcobra instead) so I'll bear that in mind, in the mean time though I do have a stormjet/silverbolt not being used for anything. I'll probably do that If I decide to revisit the project at a later date.

I've thought about it but the only parts I'd possibly use would be the hands plus I don't really have any money until September and I'll be surprised if they're still around by then for un-silly prices.

cheers for the input guys, it's giving me a lot to think about. I can see finding something to become Drillhorm being more of a problem, I think the sledge/Bonecrusher mould might work but I'd have to get one first.

work on this guy has progressed, there's till spots that need paint (arm hinges) but with university looming I'd say he's finished for now.

GREAT JOB! Been planing an Energon-Combiner-LioKaiser along similar lines myself since the original Maximi came out.

I really like what you've done so far!

any chance i could buy energon skyshadow off you or trade rotf classsics universe pink skydive for him?

for anyone working on a energon liokaiser pink skydive would go great with energon terradive as hellbat and pink rotf skydive as gaihawk

I would trade the pink one with you but...

I kind of partially dismembered him thinking I might devise a way of turning him into Drillhorn.

    Universe/ Energon Leokaiser

I know a lot of people are going to say I should have used this one as Deathcobra but I couldn't just make a Drillhorn from the tank limb, it just wouldn't sit right with me.

Drillhorn is made from the helicopter mold with the head from the tank (that was a pain to get off even with a heated pin) and treads from a classics 2 pack megatron. He's still a serious WIP but after spending so much time on him today (more than my dissertation and upcoming essays) i though i'd share.

at the bottom is an alt mode concept that i quite like but will have to decline in favour of the leokaiser component he will become.

    Q, S & C are welcome especially the suggestions.

Heh heh, I thought I was the only one making TFs instead of working on my Thesis and doing research...ain't academia wonderful!
Seriously, nice job so far. Looking at the two alt modes you have, my first thought was..."hmmm..a possible Blitzwing?..."
Can't wait to see it done!

Update, nothing too fancy, was just playing around with him and thoguht that if he's to combine i'd best make sure he's stable.

Unfortunately he was even more unstable than the helicopter due to switching the arms to face the opposite direction. I remedied that by boring a hole in the back of the cockpit to fit the giant thumb so that it doesn't wobble about. He's more stable than ever and as a bonus it means the feet won't wobble about. Unfortunately this makes drillhorn slightly smaller than Killbison so killbison will be using a modified version of Booker's tank leg scheme but using the gun as a heel support.

long story short, with combiner stability solved the only thing left for drillhorn is the drill itself (probably going to be a resculpt using the cockpit as a guide) and tidying, final fixing treads to the arms and painting.

leozack will likely be the next altered.

I hate you. I was going to sell my spare rotf bruticus but after seeing this I decided to bust it open and try this for myself.

    Keep up the good work.

thanks, yeah he is a backpack, been fiddling around to see if he can be more than that and I have found something, abiet with partsforming, some people have made Jarugar using Barricade/onslaught but it wouldn't sit right having this little dune battle buggy upgraded to a full on missile carrier. and hardtop fits the bill perfectly.

if you do do the mods I have i strongly suggest moving the hole on the cockpit forward a little bit, i bored mine a little too far up so it doesn't rest 100% properly and now i've moved it to suit it's loose rather than tight.

I would recommend doing the mod to the helicopter anyway, it stops the feet falling off. (it doesn't really matter if you're going for fansproject's updates anyway. )
