I have my Brawn, WIP here, I have to buy the green & orange paints to start on him, I took a Classics Mirage head for him to replace the moronic head of Mu-duh-flap, and I did my own version of the pack mod. I too uploaded the concept pic of the chosen color scheme. Also here is a rough shot of my G1 Skids with his newly resculpted head. I will post a new thread for the new pics of him tomorrow. the pics are kind of bad due to taking them at night, I will take a better pic of what will be Brawn too. I just did these mods so I figured i'd share.
i think you should give Brawn TWO giant fists, ya know? since he's like, Brawny, and whatnot. Sooooo, I guess that means picking up and extra Skidz arm and putting it there, assuming it fits, anyways. Ya know ya wanna do it! Do the things I can never accomplish and only dream of kitbashing!
The new head makes the mold sooo much better. Guess people need to stock up on spare heads and twins' bodies.
I was wondering about that. Give him two big arms. Mirage's head is a good idea but it looks tiny. What about the feet? Bigs toes maybe fine on Mudflap but if you could give him better feet, that would be cool.
I know you already painted Skids' arms, but would it fit if you swapped the arms so Brawn could have two big arms and Skids could have two normal ones?
i've already tried the arm swaps and I don't like the way they look, and I know about Mirage's head, to me it's always been too small even on Mirage, but it's all I have to use.
Cyclonus's head is too big for the mold, and I don't have another one, the Mirage head is all I have access to to use, and all that would fit of my customs without heavily modding it to fit on the ball joint. I have an extra modded Ironhide head that I shaved to mohawk off and added the chevron that I could use, but I have nothing to work with to make it fit the balljoint. so I appreciate the suggestions but what I have pictured is all I have access to, well that and a Barricade head, but that would require mods and I really don't think that one would look right.
I already got him apart and taped off, maybe tomorrow I can get to give him his black base coat, and Thursday i'm off to get the paint I need, I think i'm going to use Tamiya on him, depends if I can find the metallic RustOleum colors I want, I have had really good experiences with that paint sticking to plastic then taking clearcoat very well, and getting to dry with a very hard and durable finish. I bought and tried Krylon Acrylic gloss clear and after it cures it's nice and really durable, but I like the RustOleum gloss clear better.
