A dremel with a mini head works wonders if you go on it gently. And don't look down on toothpicks, blu tack and fine-grit sandpaper. They also help alot, especially for the nooks and crannies in the helm.

You are going for the anime look. May I interest you to learn from the masters. There are 9 parts to it and I learnt greatly from this series.

I actually used Mighty Putty for the head, sculpted by hand, the helmet part is from a star wars at-st driver cap, that i thought looked like her helmet. I think I may leave this one as is for the time being and sculpt a new head that is a little more slender in the cheeks, thanks for the links and input

I love this one. Don't give up on it!
I think if you slender up the cheeks a LOT you're there,
or at least mostly there. Using the starwars helmet is
genius, great work.
