WIP Accurate Powered Up Optimus Prime//A little tease

I figured since he's almost done I'd give you a little something.

And I threw this in my fallen thread the other day, but you might have missed it.

FINAL UPDATE

Almost finished, working on the shoulder pads and backpack, all work from here will be saved for the finale.
Can't wait to reveal this guy to you, I've got so much more goodies i'm going to throw into him, anyway, here he is.

UPDATE JUL 9
Finished the lower half bulking up, he's starting to shape up!
Also added to right arm cannon, still needs some work.

UPDATE JUL7

Added a bunch O kibble, starting to look good I think :O, added pieces on the feet, legs, torso, arms, thrusters and gun.
Added the ammo clip going from the gun to the backpack (but I havent made a feeding system for the back yet)
Also have a problem, The gun is removable from Optimus's hand, but the ammo belt keeps it dragging on his back, any solution ideas?

Anyway enjoy guys!

Hi there, I mentioned him in my battle damaged prime thread, but here is the in progress 2nd leader prime project, Accurate POP Prime.

Legs was the foot of optimus at an angle with parts of a Matrix APU for feet, while the turbines are from a Star Wars Ep1 Podracer (I almost fainted when I found the thing in my basement, they work perfectly as the turbines, with exposed wires and everything)

The turbines are fully articulated thanks to Cybertron downshifts legs, the turbines can move in any direction, even over-the-shoulder to blast megatron

Other than that its just a modified Leader prime (with back kibble removed, along with arm kibble since this thing wont transform after this)

Heres the source material

and here he is

I still need Jetfire for the shoulder pads, and wings (that attach onto the sides of the turbines)
I'm making the gun now, but I'm having trouble finding a Jetfire, so this might be a WIP for a while, I can't wait to finish him he's MASSIVE, and suprisingly easy to stand with all the weight on the chicken legs.

Can't wait to finish him up with a good paint job, and get some GOOD pictures of him so you guys can actually see him haha.

Thanks for your time

I'm sure you already know, but those feet are gonna have to be twice that size.

I think this is turning out quite awsome! I plan on doing something similer but have to wait for jetfire, which I am also having troubles hunting down. Cant wait to see your final creation. Will be watching with high interest.

Lookin' great so far. Those turbines are spot on, and the feet are pretty good as well, you just need to add more kibble, which is easy enough to do since you don't plan on having him TF out of 'combined mode'.

Yep yep, just finished the gun, and now i'm adding some more black parts to the legs, then I'm done until I can snag a jetfire.

thank you for doing this. it's one of the projects i have planned. except I want the armor to reattach and become jetfire again, which is going to be a chore. I think this will be one to watch.

Cool so far, but if you can't find JETFIRE why not try to find and actual SR-71 model kit?

I'm sure with that you could get similar results.
Prime: "We're Reissues Megatron"
Megatron: "Nonsense"
Ironhide: "It's True, They're Remold & Repaint Us All The time"
Megatron: "Slag" *sigh* "Kill Me Now"

While that would be all sorts of awesome, I think that making a movie accurate Powerup Prime without using any sort of add-on kibble (or making the entire 'suit' out of add-on parts, without using Jetfire at all) will be almost impossible. LC Jetfire doesn't have nearly enough mass/kibble to accurately recreate the look of the CGI model - unless you're going to cut him up into little pieces and put him back together with magnets or something like that.

But hey, don't let me tell you what you can't do. I'd love to see how you will execute the idea.
