it's now 12:20 and about to finish a 17 hour day of customs. exhausted, but happy to finally have the first part of Power-Up Prime ready for the forums.
Here's the Prime thread of the combo : ROTF : Leader Class Optimus Prime (Power-Up Prime part 2)
Some minor mods to Jetfire which I think improve the figure:
- Added very bright LEDs to his turbines
- Made the arm kibble on his forearms removable (because it's not there in the movie)
- painted his alt mode flat black, masked off the decals/graphics, then dusted it with a charcoal grey
- modded his hands so the fingers all articulate and move independently
He'll be combining with Prime hopefully tomorrow. LOTS of extras gonna be on the Power-Up Prime when complete.

If I had any redbull left, I might be able to crank out a photo shoot of prime and then the combined version, but can't keep my eyes open any more. Jetfire was fun to paint, I wanted to give him the rustic, old, worn look that best captures his character from the movie. If I had more skills, I'd make little sparks shooting out from him.
I was debating putting random screws, gears and springs on the ground next to him, but most wouldn't understand what I'm trying to convey making him look like he's falling apart. | |
